  Nice people but.....

  Over the past year, I took my car to Davila (2001 Aurora), which was recommended by a friend, three times on my own and another 3x to correct the repairs that should have been fixed the first time. Davila is kind of costly, they honor their warranties with no argument, however this is my complaint. I had my front brakes and rotors repaired but I had to return for brake replacements a month later. Go figure! Now that I moved to Atlanta, my brakes are acting up again, I'm still under warranty, but I'm not driving back to Chicago for replacements. On August 25,2007 I also had my valve cover gaskets and oil pressure switch replaced. I had to return maybe a week later because my car was still leaking oil, although I was previously informed that I may have to return if I noticed the car was still leaking oil. $1325.00 ($733-labor) for that job. October 30, 2006, $900 ($387-labor)for rear brakes, rotors, caliper, power steering prssure hose, serpentine belt, diagnostic test ($65), in which I just assume was free, (that was my bad). However, I returned 2 days later because my car still was still idling very high, which was part of that $900. It was repaired for free maybe 2 days later. The mechanics are friendly, detailed in explaining the problem, however, out of the three times I went to have my car repaired, I had to return for the same repair to be corrected 3 additional times. Also, if you are looking for a bargain, not! Prices remind you of car dealer prices. The minor things that happened....I got a parking ticket because my car was left in a no parking during certain hours zone, but Davila paid it and they lost my car keys before, luckily I had a spare with me at the time, but they did find them later.
  
  Regretably, although I like these guys character, I can not recommend them for car repair service, unless it's a last minute emergency.
