Success! Thanks for posting your review of Anti-Cruelty Society. You’ve done the world some good today.

Anti-Cruelty Society is absolutely the best!

We visited Anti-Cruelty Society last Saturday to see if we could find a dog after losing our beloved Max 5 weeks ago. We had the most charming fellow help us to find the right dog. The lady, Dotty, that helped with the adoption was also very caring and informative. Everyone there was polite and attentive to not only us but also to the dogs. The premises were clean and there was no smell.\r \r We found our Katie,... view more

The Anti-Cruelty Society Basically Stole My Dog

My dog went missing two weeks ago. We had been actively looking for her ever since, and it turns out she was picked up and turned in at an Evanston shelter. Evanston sent her to the Anti-Cruelty Society on LaSalle, where I adopted her originally 2 years ago. \r \r The ACS convinced me it wasn't my dog because she was found in Evanston, although her microchip was a match (their own help desk had previously told me t... view more

Great Staff

I just adopted a cat from them this week. After a few minutes of visiting the shelter, I felt completely confident that these animals had been shown care and concern. The staff has a genuine interest in the animals and insuring they go into a quality, ""forever"" home. The cat is the sweetest animal I have ever owned and is exactly the cat I was looking for. I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to my n... view more

14yrs of love & loyalty

just like anywhere when you purchase a pet you have to be ready for the worst and hopeful for the best. I think that most people need to be realistic when they go to the anti cruelty for an animal. these are animals that were homeless,or couldn't be kept for some reason or another. but ultimately their survival depends on you. they are just waiting for someone to love and care for them and in return you just might b... view more

recent adoption

A month ago, I adopted a brother & sister pair of 4 month old kittens. They are just a joy. The Anti-Cruelty Society spayed and neutered them, gave them shots, and treated them for usual kitten conditions. They made sure I spent some time with the kittens before I decided to adopt them to be sure that their personalities clicked with mine. The male, now called Tiger, is a lover who greets me every morning with a k... view more

sick dogs

I would rather name this the Cruel Society. They give sick dogs to first time dog owners and say deal with it. Recently , my boyfriend acquired a dog from the society.. it took him a long time to commit to such a responsibility. Well, we brought the boy home after an excruciating interview from a woman who didn't give good advice to any new dog owner.. she was anti-crating and told us annually it would cost between... view more

Good cause

If you want a pet, this should be your first step. Even if you don't like what you see, you'll at least get a better understanding of what kind of animal you want. I got a kitten here, and he's adorable. We love him very much and found that the process was very easy. The staff helped us stay logical and not get over our heads.
