Katakana Sushi Bar is the best place to pick up Sushi to go. They have great raw fish and the selecton is great. The prices are also really good and you get ,Now check The Patio is the best place Heard of Katakana on web, decided to give it a try, was not disappointed. The food is delish and the music is good and it's BYOB. Loved the high ceilings and huge TV screen projected on the wall, candles on the windows and all around the place in general, and multiple switching lights. Note: if someone gets annoyed by neon light, or a street light, or a candle light or any light at all-sit next to the wall, because in this place there is A LOT of light of different nature, which is awesome. The starter, the salad and the noodle dish I had were all consistent, fresh and absolutely satisfied my hunger. Also had couple sushi pieces beautifully presented on a plate. Can't complain either. And the last one: you have to try Katakana Special desert. Ask a waiter before being served. Overall, it was a fun night. Thanx , Thanx Katakana!!! Pros: the best sushi

This is a nice place. I like the seating on the outside, both times we ate here, we ate on the outside and it was pleasant. For two people with a bottle of wine, so roughly 2 glasses of wine each, and also the food you choose, your bill will be about $125. So, this is not a cheap place by any means, but it is not super expensive either, you will walk out saying it is more than average. I thought the food was really good, all the sushi we ordered was fresh and clever, there are rolls here that you will not find in other sushi places and perhaps that is why it is a little more on the expensive side. I do not think I will make it a habit to come here because of the price, you will definitely find just as good sushi or better sushi in a more economical fashion, but this is a place I would go back to perhaps 1 time a year.
I was really surprised to read the negative review considering my fiance and i go here once a week, sometimes more. Lunch all you can eat is $15.99 and dinner is $18.99 (not 19.95 by the way like the other review said) i have certainly never waited an hour to get my food and I've been there when they were busy. I always got my food in fifteen to twenty minutes. The sushi is amazing and the chefs are so precise and always take their work so seriously. The waitresses are so nice and responsive. Everything about this place is great. :) If you are a sushi fan, I'd recommend giving this place a try! :)
Sasuke | 12.22.07 There are many Japanese restaurants in town and I have to say that Koko is one of my favorites. I have dine in a couple of times and I have really enjoyed the sushi. Besides the good food, the service has been good. No complaints yet. I strongly recomend sitting at the sushi bar, the Chef is fun to talk to and he can create awesome stuff for you. Something good about ordering by phone is that they'll throw free miso soups with your order, excellent for the intense cold weather. Overall, the food is really worth trying. +L+
I went to the Sushi Samba in NYC and was anticipating the same type of menu and atmosphere but wasn't that excited when I saw the Menu. It was hard for me to find something that I wanted to eat (which isn't very hard to do normally). The menu was also overpriced for what you get and the rolls are incredibly small for $15-$20. You could get the same roll at another Sushi Bar for much cheaper and better quality of fish. The drinks were the highlight of my evening and the martini's are not to be missed if you do venture out there!
The menu is large and the kitchen area takes up most of the restaurant's first floor. The rest room is upstairs along with a nicely decorated upper dining area. We enjoyed the maki rolls that we had, but sashimi was average. We are happy to have a restaurant in the area that offers a pretty decent sushi. One of our friends tried the spicy beef and it was a little overcooked and not very spicy. We will definitely go back for more maki rolls, but skip the sashimi. The service was fine, but not outstanding.
Sushi X is my all time favorite sushi restaurant in the city. The rolls are always fresh, and flavorful. The Honey, Godzilla and White Tiger rolls are not to be missed. I also enjoy the fact that they have weekly specials and 1/2 priced days. It's also BYOB so the price is nice if you want to drink.
Sushi Wabi is a hidden gem, it isn't as great as Sushi X or other locations but the flavors are more on the creamy/mayo side. There wasn't too much variety on the menu and I wish there was more on your plate for what you pay for. Overall the experience was average.
My order was taken in a timely fashion and my drink never ran dry. The sushi was amazing!! I will say the prep time for the sushi was a bit lengthy and I wouldn't know how well they would do with a large party. Def worth going after a afternoon of shopping
The Jalepeno Miso is a must! All of the rolls and appetizers that I have had here have been really great. The service is a bit spotty but every time I've gone it's been worth the wait and worth the price.
