My dining partner and I have enjoyed years of great food and drink in Chicago and Los Angeles, and our overall impression of Revival was simply this: "we had to find a bad one sooner or later!" - there were other seats, but they seated us directly under a large, unfiltered skylight at 1pm -- lots of squinting! - the room was a cacophony of sound; all right angles and hard surfaces, so everyone was raising their voices to be heard. - we left much of our meal unconsumed: an over-salted bloody mary, an "odd, sort of tex-mex" eggs benedict, chips that tasted heavy and bland, and nutella pancakes that had no flavor beyond the nutella itself. - we were surrounded by waitstaff chatting with each other and friends at tables, and couldn't get a check without resorting to unsubtle methods. In short, you can do better.
