Consulate Health Care of Cheswick

This place almost killed my Father. Twice when we took him to see ouside doctors, both times they immediatley put him in the hospital. Then when he went back, they continued to give him the medication longer than necessary so that he got so dehydrated he had to be hospitalized again. The staff doctor, Dr Iyer, had him on so many anti-anxiety, anti-depressants and sleeping pills that he became mentally unstable. When we got him treated at the hospital and they stopped all of it, his mental falculties returned. Do not let those doctors treat you. The nursing staff should also have known how badly he was deteriorating but they did nothing. Do not send your love one there!!

I date a nurse the works at this establishment. The one start comments you see are true. Whenever I see a statement with 5 stars and them receiving the best of care I can only think those statements are made by people in upper management because they are incredibly inaccurate. I'm not gonna go into all the details about how horrible this place is because it would take to long to text it all out. Everything bad you hear is true though. If you love your friend or family member DO NOT put them in this facility. People go downhill quick here. Corporate will only allow hiring of 1 nurse to care for 25 people, sometimes even 50 people when a nurse calls off work and they don't have extra nurses on to cover that person's shift. So 1 nurse has to care for 50 people. The nurses aren't even allowed a nursing break (although everyone is believed they are) which is why you see nurses snacking as they work. They don't stock proper items to care properly for people. They take drugs from one client to give to another as they try to order and restock for whom they took them from because they aren't allowed by corporate to spend the proper money and stock what they need. Nurses checks are always screwed up and you have to fight to get money owed to you. I'm sorry, but you cannot possibly get good care when you have 1 nurse trying to do her work load for 25 or 50 patients in an 8 hour shift. I can go on and on. By the way, state is always there because they're always called. They still allow this place to operate. It probably doesn't help though that this facility had fake books that they give to state to review, when they hide their real books. I'm not even making any of this stuff up. I'll repeat it, DO NOT put your loved one in this facility or any Consulate facility!! I would give 0 stars of I could.
