WORST SERVICE EVER - Followed by a hair in our food!!!
Like most people, we eat out for convenience and to save time. Our experience with Chicken King in Chester was not only inconvenient, but ended up being disgusting! We ordered a mixed 8 piece fried chicken with 4 legs and 4 breasts. The girl at the counter not only accepted our order, but called it out correctly over their mic. Upon arriving at home, we discovered that our order was incorrect, so we called the "restaurant" and were told to come back to pick up the correct order, and to keep the chicken that we'd already been given after showing them the incorrect order. So we drove back to Chicken King to show them the mistake - while all of the vegetables and sides that we had at home got cold waiting for the return of the main dish. Upon arrival at Chicken King, one of the owners tried to convince us that an order like 4 breasts and 4 legs was impossible since chickens only have 2 legs etc. REALLY?? Once they finally agreed that they can actually fill such an order' they tried to convince us that since the owner had't heard the order called out on the mic it didn't count. What?? Who cares? We just wanna eat dinner at this point. They proceeded to take back the mistaken order, which my family had previously had in their hands and on their plates, despite the fact that we'd been told to keep the 1st order for the inconvenience. The owners explanation was that they are a new business and couldn't afford to have us keep the mistaken order - that and what their employee had said didn't count because I was at fault because I should have asked for an owner when I called. - So I'm at fault because his employee didn't tell me this situation was over their head & he needed to be involved and he doesn't believe he should stand behind the actions or words of his employees. WHAT WAS THE POINT? Was I supposed to apologise for his employee not being trained properly? Were they planning to serve the same chicken to other unsuspecting customers??? At the conclusion of our way too lengthy discussion (as our new order of chicken got cold) WE WERE ACTUALLY CHARGED ANOTHER $4. for a special order!!! At this point it was over an hour since we started trying to get our convenient meal from out and we were all ready to just go eat our cold chicken and sides. I was annoyed at the new higher price & tired of trying to get them to treat us like valued customers. The owner wanted to have further discussion and actually expected me to come back the next day and discuss this issue at length when HE had more time to get me to understand his viewpoint (since his time is valuable and mine is not) Why would I drive once again to Chicken King the following day to discuss with him his point of view, so I could understand why they couldn't even just honor what they'd said. SERIOUSLY?? How much time does this guy think that I want to spend on our time saving meal? AS IF ALL OF THIS WAS NOT ENOUGH - When we finally did get to eat our over priced cold chicken, my daughter found a HAIR embedded in the breading of her chicken leg. I think I would have gotten better service and less hair by picking through the dumpster behind KFC! Needless to say WE'LL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! Looks like the below reviews must have been written by friends or family. CHICKEN KING CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF HAIRY EXTRAS AND PREVIOUSLY SERVED CHICKEN!
