Avoid the gyro if you really still want to go here.
I was looking forward to eating at Norma's after reading all the rave reviews on Yelp dot com. Either those reviewers are relatives and friends of the owners or the restaurant has gone downhill since those reviews.
Anyway, I'm a big gyro fan and have eaten gyros at several places, mostly pizza shops. So I ordered a gyro at Norma's. Man, what a joke that thing was. It was all wrapped up tight like a turkey wrap or something you get at a deli.
So the appearance was not good. I opened it up and didn't see any lettuce or olives. Basically it just had the lamb meat, onions, tomatoes, and sauce. The pita bread was very flat like a tortilla wrap. If that was a traditional gyro, then I rather have the Americanized version at the pizza shops any day.
I ordered a mint tea also, which was ok. You'd figure that they'd garnish it with at least one mint leaf for presentation, but nope, they didn't. My girlfriend ordered the Shawarma Combination which was nothing to rave about either.
Lastly, the service was slow considering that there we were the only two in the restaurant at first. I would not recommend this place to anyone. At least they were not too pricey so it wasn't hard on my wallet.
