Computed Tomography
The hearing restoration procedure is an entirely separate operation performed after the external reconstruction. This sequence of procedures has proven to provide the optimal outcome. Not all children are good candidates for the hearing restoration surgery. Our neurotologist performs this surgery and can determine his/her candidacy based on a CT scan.
Radiation Therapy
The treatment for skin cancers usually involves some form of excision. When they are complex or arising on the face and neck, Mohs surgery may be indicated. This is a specific technique for removing skin cancers that is performed by a dermatologic surgeon. There are other methods of treating skin cancers including radiation therapy and topical agents.The ideal treatment is individualized and should be discussed with your physician.

Wound Care
Once you return home, it is best to relax with your head elevated, such as in a reclining chair or in bed with multiple pillows. Keeping your head elevated will minimize swelling. Because of the large bandage, most people find it difficult to eat full meals and softer foods are generally better tolerated. The incisions are all protected under the bandage so no specific wound care is needed.

Botox
We all see the laugh lines around our eyes when we smile or the crease between our eyebrows with certain facial expressions. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for these lines to become permanent and visible all the time. Botox injections use a paralyzing chemical to inactivate the muscles responsible for those wrinkles.
Brow Lift
Our facial expressions and emotions are often conveyed through the position of the eyebrows and eyes. As gravity slowly pulls the brow tissues down, the overall expression begins to change and take on a sad, tired, or even scowling look. A brow lift, or forehead lift as it is also known, lifts drooping eyebrows and smoothes the deeper furrows of the forehead.
Eyelid Surgery
Any surgery in and around the eyes can potentially jeopardize vision. It is extremely unusual for any permanent change. On occasion, however, the swelling in this area can cause temporary changes in refraction. For this reason, it is recommended to delay having any prescription measurements made immediately after eyelid surgery. In addition, some of the ointment around the eye can cause some blurriness to your vision.
Liposuction
Liposuction is the method of removing excess fat and is usually done through very small incisions in concealed areas. Conventional liposuction involves a small canula that allows the evacuation of unwanted fat deposits through a suction mechanism. At times, a newer liposhaving method can be used whereby the redundant fat is carefully trimmed away rather than avulsed through suction. Both techniques work well for select areas of the face and neck.

When successful, the Rhinoplasty makes the eyes appear brighter, lips fuller, and cheeks rounder. The procedure can change the shape and size of the nose, making it smaller, straighter or more refined and elegant. Rhinoplasty is performed with patients of all ages, from teenagers to mature adults. Functional problems such as nasal obstruction may also be amendable to corrective surgery and are often covered by insurance carriers.

Scar Revision
Scar revision is usually performed with local anesthesia and IV sedation. The scarred area can be thoroughly anesthetized with creams and small injections. The scar is usually excised and replaced with a new one which is less conspicuous. The incisions are usually closed in multiple layers with dissolvable skin sutures.
Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing uses laser energy to emit an infrared light that vaporizes the top layer of skin. The laser is used with great precision and is effective in treating small wrinkles caused by sun exposure.
Cosmetic Surgery
Complications with nasal surgery are not common but on occasion some people have more bleeding than usual and a temporary pack within the nose may be necessary. As with all cosmetic surgery, the possibility exists that the aesthetic outcome is not precisely as you hoped and revision surgery may be called for.
Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is done in a minor procedure room in the office. The affected areas can be thoroughly anesthetized with creams and small injections. The dermabrader is a hand-held instrument that makes a humming noise. One often feels some pressure, although sharp discomfort is not felt.
Facial Implants
Facial implants can enhance important contours and definition of a face and create a more angular or robust and youthful appearance. Implants are placed in a variety of places, but most often in the chin, cheeks, or nasal bridge. Augmenting one area can create the illusion of manipulating an adjacent region and significantly improve the overall facial balance. An example would include a nose which appears large yet the primary problem is a small and retrussive chin.

Skin Cancer
Facial reconstruction after skin cancer excision is a major part of the treatment process. There are different types of skin cancers but most are removed surgically. The resultant defect often needs surgical repair. The extent of surgery varies widely depending on the location and complexity of the defect.
Acne Treatment
Lesions
Prolonged pigment changes including dark and/or light spots can occur. There are a variety of creams that can assist with these areas. Individuals with a darker complexion are at greater risk for developing hyperpigmented spots that appear darker than the surrounding skin. Scar formation is also a possibility, particularly if the wounds become dried or infected. Unusual scarring can be managed conservatively – after many months, the affected areas will slowly soften and fade. Alert your surgeon if you have a history of cold sores or herpetic lesions around the lips as an outbreak can lead to scars.
Chemical Peels
Chemical Peels use a variety of solutions to create a peel of varying depth. The superficial peels not only rejuvenate skin texture but allow rapid recovery. Deeper peels are aimed at removing facial wrinkles, but are associated with some redness and longer recovery.
