Papa John's used to be one of the most reliable, good pizzas around. Our Papa John's here in Mooresville has become a total disappointment. I finally gave up after the pizzas started arriving without any sauce within an inch of the crust, sparce toppings, etc etc. A real shame, because it USED TO BE great. The counter help act like machines and no matter the suggestion, nothing changed. It got so bad I considered trying to email the company online...then a found a great pizza here...view more. I notice Papa John's doesn't deliver near as many pizzas to my neighborhood so I assume other people have found similar siutuations here.view less

These guys use fresh ingredients. I love the thin crust and garlic sauce. And they're really great with customer service. They once messed up my order and sent me a pizza I couldn't eat, and I not only got a quick replacement but also credit for a free pizza.
Papa John's is consistent and they don't skimp on the sauce. I have noticed so many places barely put any sauce on their pizzas. There are 3 main ingredients we need here: 1)the dough, 2)the sauce, and 3)the cheese. Without a good balance, you won't have a good pie. This place has all 3 down and it's tastier than most ""upscale"" pizzerias.
I know i'm not in NYC anymore. But to put fast food pizzerias on this list is just wrong and a marketing tool not too mention a lack of research. I have found a bunch of good pizzerias in charlotte and let me tell you they are not fast food. want to try good pizza (taste just like NY pizza) try LaRoma on highway 49 just east of university area.
the commercial says"" the best ingredients"", the best compared to what standards.
i have had papa johns pizza a few times before, and if you have ever eaten real pizza before, you no the fast food ones aren't cuttin it, fuel pizza is excellent and so is house of pizza on central ave, charlotte, great pizza at almafios , unversity area
