Pediatric Care

Primary Care
New patient appointments require a physician to send a referral request on your behalf. The referring physician can be a specialist you saw who identified an oncology-related condition or your primary care physician.
Family Practice
She previously worked Urgent Care and Family Medicine in SC, as well as a summer Medical Mission trip to Romania in 2012 to treat patients at 10 medical clinics in various villages. When she’s not caring for patients, Hadley enjoys the outdoors, hiking, reading and spending time with her family.

Electrocardiogram
Our practice has in-office lab facilities. Lab appointments are scheduled Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Complete blood counts (CBCs), urinalysis and electrocardiograms are performed in our office if ordered by one of our physicians. Additional lab tests may be sent out and performed by an outside reference lab/hospital. If tests are performed by an outside facility, (frequently Quest Diagnostics), you will be billed directly by that company. We will notify you of abnormal lab results that require immediate attention. If your lab results are normal, you will be notified by phone, mail or at your next scheduled office visit. Radiology tests are not available at our office. We will assist you in scheduling these procedures, but all billing is handled by the facility where your scan or test is performed.

Labor and Delivery
Amy started her career with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from UNC-Wilmington. For 20 years she worked as a nurse in various roles and health institutions. She worked for ten years in pediatric oncology and pediatric stem cell transplant. She has experience in ER, labor & delivery, and spent five years as an administrative house supervisor. She has worked all over the Carolinas, including Duke Hospital, Atrium Pineville, and the Medical University of South Carolina.

Internal Medicine
A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Dr. Favaro received his MD and PhD from The Medical University of South Carolina following an eight-year dual degree program. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society during his time in medical school. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of Texas, Southwestern in Dallas, TX, and his fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Favaro is board certified in both Medical Oncology and Hematology.

Colon Cancer
Outside of the clinical setting, Dr. Favaro has a strong interest in health care policy. He has served on the board of Community Oncology Alliance and has lobbied in Washington, DC on behalf of community oncology. Dr. Favaro led in the development of the first local chapter of the Community Oncology Alliance Patient Advocacy Network (CPAN) and he has served as president of the North Carolina Oncology Association. Dr. Favaro has spoken at support group meetings for patients with colon cancer and multiple myeloma and has participated in local fundraising races for cancer.
Prostate Cancer
Zero Prostate Cancer organization offers peer support both virtually and in-person meetings at various locations. There is also a host of other support for prostate cancer patients, caregivers, and preventive measure for other family members with a genetic predisposition. Favaro, Shehadeh and Dallas understand the individual needs of each patient and work with our entire staff to coordinate the right active treatment for their oncology, hematology, and Infusion needs, including providing second opinions.
Lung Cancer
Since 2010, LiveLung has been on a mission to advance lung cancer education, early detection and compassion for people impacted by lung cancer. We do this by hosting a network of monthly community lung cancer patient groups. We also provide gift bags to dozens of cancer centers where nurse navigators give them to newly diagnosed lung cancer patients. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that believes we are here to serve the lung cancer community, not the other way around. We understand the financial toxicity that comes with a lung cancer diagnosis. While we gratefully accept donations, we do not solicit donations at our group meetings nor harass patients for donations.

Radiology
When you get services from an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, certain providers there may be out-of-network. In these cases, the most those providers may bill you is your plan’s in-network cost-sharing amount. This applies to emergency medicine, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, laboratory, neonatology, assistant surgeon, hospitalist, or intensivist services. These providers can’t balance bill you and may not ask you to give up your protections not to be balance billed.
Chemotherapy
Many patients facing chemotherapy treatments are daunted by the thought of losing their hair. Hair-loss (alopecia), especially for women, can significantly impact a patient’s self-esteem during an already overwhelming time. Fortunately, there are advanced technologies which offer solutions to chemotherapy-induced alopecia.
