We eat at Mimi's Cafe quite of...

We eat at Mimi's Cafe quite often and usually have good service and always great food. We have had to wait on occasion but it has never been the fault of the staff but the crowd at the restaurant. Once I had a problem with my order and the manager came to the table and apologized and the whole bill was taken care of...not just mine but my husband's also. Another time the server messed up a charge to our card which I did not notice until after we had left the restaurant...my fault, I was too busy visiting with our friends to notice. I called the restaurant as soon as I did check my receipt. Once again our whole bill was taken care of by the manager. Since we do eat at Mimi's often I can not imagine that so many people have found fault with the staff especially the management.

Mimi's cafe is the best

I love Mimi's. I love everything I get there, especially the soups. I think the set up of the restaurant was nicely done. The people are always friendly and willing to make your experience the the best.

nice menu, but ""chain"" feel

Had breakfast here on a sunday. We didn't have to wait and the service was very good. I liked the big menu - especially the ""ligher fare"" menu on the back that had the calorie count for all the breakfast dishes. I had the santa fe omelet with just egg whites and it didn't lack any flavor. My hubby loved the ""large"" juice. They brought it out in a giant pilsner glass. Beats those tiny little glasses of juice you get at most places. I think the only con is the amosphere. It feels like a 'chain' restaurant. Lots of stuff on the walls, cramped tables and low ceilings. Lots of childern here too - beware singletons.

Wonderful Place

I cannot disagree more with the negative reviews I have read
I went to Mimi's and had a wonderful lunch and great service.
I even need a Gluten Free menu and they graciously brought the menu to me.
My husband and I loved the place and the food was wonderful!
We had a wonderful waitress and the service was fast!
I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
It has a fun great atmosphere and made me feel so welcome.
Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

Unprofessional Wait Staff

I was 1 out of 10 people attending my cousin's birthday celebration at MiMi's Cafe near Northlake Mall in Charlotte, NC. We only went to MiMi's because it was highly recommended due to their variety of bread, muffins, and a menu with variety. Wrong answer after the party of 10 were seated it took 20 minutes to complete a drink order, it took another 20 minutes to place our order and 30 minutes to get our soup, salad's and appetizer's to the table. When the bread basket finally arrived it was cold bread that was suppose to just came out the "hot" oven. After we starting complaining we had 3 different servers and the asst. manager came to our table to aplogize to refill drinks that had been sitting for more than 20 minutes empty. 8 people out of the ten finally recived their entree's for 2 people to recive their food 25 minutes later due to a mix up. The manager claim he was going to compensate the several mistakes through the bill. MiMi's only discounted $40 off of a $100+ bill and gave 3 complimentary "free appeetizer" cards with 10 people sitting at the table. WOW! Just don't do it..................

Unprofessional General Manager

this is a nice resturant, however, the managing partner,(Rob) is not a nice man nor a good professional business man. I recently visited this resturant to have a birthday meal with my two daughters on valentines day and the $15.99 meal that I ordered came out sloppy. it was a steak dinner with corn, fries and a salad . When the meal came out, the corn was sitting under the steak. steak juices and corn juice was all over the plate and therefore it soaked up in my fries that was cold in the first place. I asked the waitress to take it back and have the side dishes placed in separate dishes. Well, she did as i asked, but when it reached the kitchen, the general manager/manageing partner (Rob) took the dish and placed it all back on another place except the cold fries. He put them in a separate dish, but,still the same cold and wet fries. He then sent the food back out to me by his assistant manager, he didnt have the nerve to face me himself,and when i refused it,the assistant manager just asked did i want it and he took it back to him. Not once did Rob come to my table to see what the problem was, not once the he or the assistant manager appologuze for it ,not once did the waitress come back to see if we needed or wanted anything else. After, I got the waitress attention, since she kept zooming by my table to keep from handling it or faceing us,I asked for the number to corporate . She then went to get me a business card and when i asked for the general manager name and the assistant manager name, then she told me that it was Rob and that he was there. I asked to speak with him and when he came out and i explained to him what i wanted and what happened, he just looked at me and got smart with me by just saying ok to every thing i said. then he still did not even offer to correct it, he acted like he was doing me a favor by telling me he woiuld take the meal off my bill, which he had no choice because i was not paying for nothing i did not eat.the meal was sent back,so there was no reason to charge me for it. after i asked for the invormation to head office, he replied by saying, that he was the head person.I then asked for corporate number and he said he only know the area code (yeah right). He totaly ruined my birthday dinner with my daughters which i had a coupon for $10 off that was going to expire the next day. Not to mention that i drove all the way up from SC to eat there.
