I ordered the tilapia, and the fish was very thin, it didn't seem like it was a parmesan crust - more like normal breading, and was very greasy.
The Ladies bathroom had non-working soap dispensers, a paper towel holder that was stuffed so full you could not even use it, and a run-down feel overall.
And, much like you would expect a seafood place in Uotown Charlotte to be, it was expensive. Not a good value for the money, IMO. Go down a big to Ruth's Chris instead.

Went into McCormick's on a friday afternoon around 3pm. Sat in the ""lounge"" area of the restaurant and surprisingly we weren't the only people in there. About 10-12 people were between tables and the bar. We sit down, were informed of happy hour food specials, and decided to opt for food off of the regular menu. Wanting to get a drink and some late lunch, we were shocked that it took so long to accomplish these small feats.
After waiting 10 minutes, we were finally greeted by our server, took our drink orders and we also placed an order for Ahi Tuna appetizer and Littleneck Clams. Our drinks came on by about 10 minutes after that. In the meantime, we had some in-house entertainment with the table next to us and the waitress getting into an argument about respect or something 'er another...wasnt too interested in paying attention to that. And the food about 10 minutes later. When we received the drinks (Ketel One and 7up) it tasted like I was drinking a can of soda with no vodka. The food is another story...We received the Tuna appetizer first ($12) and had gotten 4 tiny slices of Ahi tuna with some slaw mix in the middle and soy and wasabi on the side...I was probably just as unsatisfied with my hunger after the small tuna sample as I was before! The clams were good, but that's kind of hard to mess up.
I'm pretty open to dining experiences, and frequently dine at so called ""fine dining"" establishments, but I have to say that this is the worst experience I have had in a long time. Not sure what the deal was with this place, but I'm definitely going to think three times before I go here again. You think in these times the people who still are spending money going out would at least get the service you can get at McDonalds, hell McDonalds has one up on them.

Thanksgiving Day 2008 noon lunch. Our waiter arrived immediately and he was well-informed and courteous. Lunch arrived soon after we ordered. The food was hot and well prepared.
It was a pleasant experience. Good window table looking out on West Fourth Street. The fish we had was fresh ---excellent flavor with imaginative preparation, tasty sauces and colorful garnish. Bread, steamed asparagus and rice were very good. We will return.

I've been to McCormick's probably 5 times now! It is really delicious. I prefer the one at Southpark mall, to the one in uptown, but that's just my preference. They have great happy hour specials-- drinks are affordable, and you can get a meal for a couple bucks; definitely worth it! For dinner, I usually get the same thing, I think it's called the Northwestern Salmon. The menu here changes twice daily; a new menu is printed for lunch and dinner, and the chefs are encouraged to try new things, so there will be different things on the menu all the time. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. When my parents are in town, I always take them there. It's a great place for a nice meal and It's always consistent. This place is definitely pricey, but what isn't in Southpark?

Walk in and you smell stale beer and cigarettes, like a frat house from the days of yore. We walked further into the barroom, to discover there was not too many people in there, It just smelled.
After a drink at the bar, we went to our table. At $13, I expected a very good Shrimp Cocktail. What we got were 4 medium sized old, tired shrimp on a small plate. That's it, with bad cocktail sauce. We sent them straight back after one bite each. We had a crab cake that was much better . While we checked out the menu, some bread was brought to the table. It was a cold hunk of sourdough bread, with a hunk of ice cold butter in a little dish. Lame.
The entrees were 50/50. My wife had mountain trout and loved it. It was nicely broiled, and flavorful.
I had asked the same treatment for the flounder I was eyeing. . It was on the ""Fresh List"". This is where the major dissapointment of the evening came in.
Do not think you can go in and see a nice fish on the ""fresh list ""and ask them to just prepare it plain, or broiled in my case. All of the ""fresh"" items are prepared in ways on a set menu. Upon visiting, you will find the ""daily menu"" bears a striking resemblance to the generic ""sample menu"" on their website. My only choice for flounder was ""parmesan encrusted"". I asked if I could have broiled flounder, with a little butter. I did not think that was much to ask of a seafood restaurant. . In response, I was assured that the chef had, encrusted all of the available flounder that very morning, could not remove or rinse off the parmesan prior to cooking, and 3, that the parmesan flounder was a seafood dish for the ages.
What arrived was a piece of fish, less than a half inch thick, with cheese bits stuck on both sides. It was completely dry and flavorless, with the consistency of chewing gum.
I ate the potatoes and more cold bread. We decided to have some coffee. It was bad.
The manager comped us a piece of doughy pie. We left, never to return.

My friend and I ate here April12th. We sat at out table for five minutes before we finally asked the host for a waiter. The wine glasses on the table were filthy. The waiter's ""white"" shirt was black with dirt and grease. My friend's fish was served undercooked and the mashed potatoes were cold. The management here needs to be replaced. The place is a mess

McCormicks dishes out the some of the worst seafood I have eaten. It is supposed to be a level above the Red Lobsters but even they have better fare.
The food was greasy, the appetizers not appealing, the service was average and overall it is not worth at all.
