Big Al's is a place that anyone and everyone should visit. As business women, we drove to different areas to sit and vent over a drink or two in other areas. However. At Big Al's you can go in wearing your suits and ladies in their suit too. But what made it special was how every one was nice or kept to them selves or watched a game etc... You can see many different attires from suits to jeans, uniforms to working clothes sitting down to eat or just a drink. When I (my 1st time too) took my CEO there to un-vent after everyone had a stressed day esp dealing with the special population. She made a face lolol and laugh as said your sooo crazy. But once we were seated, and ordered our honey/harb wings and a drink. She loved it! We started to go once or twice a week sometimes to discuss agendas, vent or just to enjoy the food, drinks and their staff at Big Al's. You really felt welcome and there was no rushing you out or pushing you with the tab. Its a laid back Pub eatery and when you see families with little tikes, you've gotta know this is a nice/safe place to go. So, to all of those indiv who think its not a after 5 for business people to relax, think again its just the place! Ps. Dnt let the outside alarm you its what inside that matters....... From the ladies of all colors blkasian, blk,wht and others we love you guys!!!! Sincerely, Honey/harb & whiskey sour lots of cherries ;0)

Underwhelmed. Yeah, I get that a few places have crazy good inventive bartenders that grow and blend their own ingredients, thus justifying ridiculous cocktail prices. This isn't one of those places, and the cocktails aren't terribly special...but they are priced as if they are. Beer menu isn't terribly varied, wanted a stout I hadn't had before, ended up with a NoDa porter I've had 100 times. It's good, just wanted something new. Waiter didn't understand beer styles, so he was useless. No, I do not want a black lager as a substitute, thank you. Tapas, huh? What this means is full price for half of a plate with no sides. My beef skewers were fantastic, but they were pretty small. Sure glad I got to fill up on fries (not). I'm not normally overly sensitive, but where we were sitting had an incredible odor of mold, that sure didn't help. I'll give it another shot and update accordingly depending on how it goes.
This place is a rare gem of a restaurant tucked away in Myers Park where executives from BoA, Duke E, etc. like to dine undetected-- need I say more?! Old world charm where the wait staff & owner know you by name, giving it a great familial feel rarely seen in Charlotte these days. The food is always fresh & delicious, with ample-sized portions. I love their chopped salad but still mourn the sea bass they recently removed from the menu. Aside from that negative, everything else on their new menu is delightful. Our favorite waiter is Noor who is very knowledgeable, always provides great customer service & has a fabulous accent! This restaurant is definitely worth the trip!
