There is almost no claims that Stan Asher made in his review that are true. I will address them one by one. First, Mr. Asher claims that the installers that came to install for him were installing for the first time. This is just completely untrue. The name of the installer is Moises. Moises did the complete install for Chima Restaurant downtown, (4) four QDoba Restaurants, and RuSan Restaurant just to name a few. Moises is a well seasoned installer. Mr. Asher knows that the issues that he had with the carpet were a manufacturers issue, and that the manufacturer confirmed that fact and paid for the reinstall. Second, Mr. Asher claims that we used staples to tack the carpet down the carpet. The truth is that we only used staples to secure carpet on the steps. This is the accepted method to install carpet on steps. Third, Mr. Asher claims that we recommended this carpet to him. Mr. Asher knows that this is a complete distortion of the truth. When we were introduced to Mr. Asher, he had already gotten a bid from another company for $6,000.00 to do the same job and he presented us with the carpet that the other company had given him. We got the exact same carpet and presented him with the color pallet to choose his color, and to choose the particular quality of carpet as this carpet comes in (3) three quality levels, Base, 20oz and 26oz. Based on price, Mr. Asher chose the 20oz carpet. We never recommended this carpet nor would we. This carpet is made to be installed with no seams and in very low traffic areas. We attempted to get Mr. Asher to get a higher quality carpet and he personally refused based on cost. We installed this carpet for $4300.00...the same job that the other company had quoted $6000.00. We did this job at our cost (and eventual loss) because we do ongoing business with someone from his congregation. Mr. Asher signed off on the job when we were finished and was completely aware of the customary (1) one year warranty. I personally spoke with Stan on 4 different occasions. His assertions that my employees shielded me from him is completely untrue. In addition, we have even offered to apply the entire cost of this job to redo the job with an appropriate carpet. Carpet South is a 15+ year old company with a extensive experience in the commercial flooring and residential flooring arena. We are now and have always been willing to work with Mr. Asher with in reason. Our offer to apply that money to a new job with the appropriate carpet stands. I live half an hour away from this salon, without traffic. If I could find a closer salon that came even close to its quality, I would go there instead. No other hair salon has been able to take my home chemist personality and difficult, wavy, thin hair and do anything useful with it. Colouring: My stylist calls me the home chemist. One time, I went a little crazy and bleached my locks too soon after dyeing it BACK from bleaching. This was the day before my graduation. The color was bright yellow. They fit me in as an emergency fix, gave me a sandy blonde colour to patch up the botched job, and even left some highlights in to give it dimension. This was with minimal attention, because the colourist actually had another client at the same time, and it still turned out perfectly. My mother has gotten a lot of styling jobs from the same salon, and hers always turn out looking very natural, while masking the grey that's starting to come in. I've seen other colouring jobs that were on the other side of the spectrum--very bold and startling--too, so I would say they have an acceptable range. Styling: I have switched hairdressers a few times; they all have distinct point of view, which sometimes means that the styling wasn't quite how I wanted. I'm VERY low-maintenance, and I've been going to Michelle down at the Arboretum branch for that reason. Before her, I was going to Anthony up at this branch, and he is GREAT, just his hair styles are more for someone who is willing to put in a little work, and I'm a college student. With that said, though, I've had everything from a super short cut to bangs to long, layered hair, and they've done a great job with each. The price range for stylists starts at about $35, and that's mostly for people just starting out at the salon. They're all trained well, however, and I've had two beginning stylists with no problem. The people there are very friendly and receptive, and they always offer beverages and have good magazines for the waiting room, not to mention the comfy seats. :]
I have personally done business with Carpet South Design for over 6 years. 4 years ago my family moved to a home that needed major remodeling which included lots of new flooring. Carpet South installed all new carpeting and hardwood floors. Jim Johnson personally handled our project and made sure that I was comfortable with the stain color of the floors (personally bringing stain colors to the house) provided various options for carpeting, and clearly laid out what to expect as far as time frame to install, etc. His invoice was clearly broken out as to each charge so that I was aware of each element of cost. His installers were always on time and completed the job in the time frame promised. Jim has always been professional, courteous and approachable. If he was not able to take care of something personally, he made sure that another one of his capable staff were available to assist me. I always appreciate how Jim is able to turn around a job for me very quickly and never seems to be too busy to help. I know when I call on him, I do not have to worry as the job will be taken care of. Being able to count on someone to do what they promise is a true blessing. I have recommended Jim Johnson and CSD for a number of years and will continue to do so in the future. As a matter of fact, Carpet South Design is installing carpet in a home for me next week!
I have to totally disagree with the 1st review! My only complaint would be the long lines to get into the place! You want to make sure you call ahead and get your name on the List before going b/c the line can be over a 2 hour wait. Once you're in though you'll have a blast! They have a VIP area that is really nice with waitresses and then you're also not jammed up against everyone. And the Bull can get very crowded too. What it comes down to though is unless your in the VIP area you should always tip your bartender. That's even in LKN if you're not tipping most likely they won't be serving, then again that's most all bars. That's how they make their money though as a Server! So Tip them well people and you'll be served well! Anyhow the music is really good and the atmosphere is Great too! For the most part anything goes there! They'll play all types of music along with great dancing stuff! You'd think its a tourist trap being owned by Jr but its not! And if you go on a Tuesday or Thursday there's even a chance you may see him. Also they have very hot beer tub girls if you don't want to wait at the bars! It can get very crazy but then again isn't that why you went out! At least try it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed! Just remember to call ahead!
I was in need of a hair makeover; but didn't really have an idea of what I wanted. I was ready for a new perspective from the hairdresser I had been seeing for years. When I read a review of 8 the Salon; it described exactly what I was looking for- they assess your features and match your hair style to compliment or bring out your best possible looks with the capabilities of your own hair type. I called to schedule an appointment and found the staff to be very congenial and was able to get an appointment scheduled to fit the timeframe I requested without any hesitation. When I arrived, I found the salon was immaculate, and the staff very personable-everyone was smiling and upbeat, they spoke to the guest and each other with respect- very professional. Brittani was my stylist she explained why my features needed the types of hair styles that we can consider and then taught me how to style the cut, and suggested the products to maintain the style. I am thrilled with the style; and my hair is cut according to its natural tendency to fall, so IT JUST LOOKS GREAT! I can't remember when I have been this happy with my hairstyle. I give 8 the Salon my highest recommendation, I can't say enough for the staff and Britanni in particular- they are the best!
Richard was highly recommended to me by a friend after I moved here from California. He is as talented as anyone in Beverly Hills! Truly knows how to cut (dry "so you can see how your hair moves") and my color went from a flat honey blonde to a shiny, multi-dimensional blonde bombshell! I felt like a movie star walking out of that salon! Watching him cut your hair is like being in the hands of an artist/sculpter. You will NOT be disappointed with your cut and color. When you sit in that chair, and Richard listens, analyzes, and creates your best look, you are indeed investing in yourself, so it is nice to know that you really get your money's worth! The salon is comfortable (separate area/room) for each stylist) and the staff are so friendly (coffee, cookies, water?) Prices are competitive and well worth it. I took my college-daughter to the salon for a cut ... Richard immediately showed her the buildup on her never-colored hair; it was full of waxy, heavy conditioners, and needed a thorough cleansing. He used a clarifying shampoo and rinsed her hair to a glossy silk! He cut beautiful layers throughout her thick hair, and she walked out of there with that "Kim Kardashian" cut she wanted!
I chose the Hardwood Giants to refinish my hardwoods about a year ago and they did a great job. The owner Phil went out of his way to get my floors done within the timeframe I required and the floors looked superb. I'm writing this review because of how great Phil has been since the job was completed a year ago. I got a long deep scratch across the middle of my office floor from someone sliding a heavy crate. I left Phil a voicemail and he called me back within the hour. I explained the situation and that the scratch was my fault and he said no problem. He got his guys to my house the next weekend and they not only fixed the scratch, but also installed new doorway transitions at no charge. I needed new ones because I tiled my kitchen floor last week and had to pull up the old ones. His worker also gave me padding for the feet of my furniture, as a precautionary measure to avoid scratching. I had to twist his workers arm to take a tip and there was absolutely no charge for any of it, Phil and his crew are honest and do business the old fashion way and I highly recommend them!
I just bought a house in Charlotte and needed to get the floors refinished prior to moving in. I was dealing with a time crunch and needed to get the job done as quickly as possible because I had to get moved in. I met with the owner of The Hardwood Giants, Phil, and several other flooring contractors. I liked Phil's style the best. He talked about what his company does well and told me exactly what to expect. He did not talk about what to watch out for with other contractors and did not bad-mouth his competition. Phil's guys got started with 48 hours and the floors look like new now. I changed the color of the floors to a natural oak, but was given multiple options to choose from. They actually stained the floor in several spots so I could pick the color I liked best. I also liked that Phil was on the job site multiple occasions supervising and I didn't pay him a penny until the job was finished. If you are in need of new hardwood floors or are looking to get your floors refinished, I strongly recommend reaching Phil for a quote. His team does a great job!
I've always wanted to have extensions again but I've had so many bad weaves, I just gave up... I would constantly look around at other women's hair trying to find a glimmer of hope out there for a fantastic weave but no such luck. They were always lumpy or unnatural looking. Last year I started transitioning and as my natural hair grew in length, I became desperate for something where I didn't have to deal with my hair every day. I kept it braided for a while and got tired of that and I didn't really know what I was going to do until I ran across Crystal's videos on YouTube. Her work looked fantastic and I was sold. After checking out her website, I scheduled an appointment and I love my hair. She was fast and the finished product is beautiful. You walk out of her salon feeling like a diva and it doesn't take long before others are dropping their jaws in awe. So if you want to turn heads and break necks, visit Crystal, she is wonderful. I live about an hour and half a way and I don't like to drive but it was well worth the journey and I will be visiting again!
I'm really shocked by the previous reviews and that's putting it mildly! I have been going to My Day Spa for 6 years now and I've always had AMAZING service! Before coming to My Day Spa, I tried out half a dozen nail spas in the area and even got a fungal infection from one...Jay (the owner) knew exactly what to do and it healed rather quickly. I have been to this salon at every possible hour of the day and every day of the week and I'm always pleased with my service. I've NEVER seen any kind of discrimination going on and I'm always a walk-in customer so it's not like they're on their 'best behavior' because I'm there. I would recommend My Day Spa to anyone/everyone and wouldn't hesitate for a moment in doing so! I've been fortunate enough to get to know the owners as people and I gladly call them friends!!! Btw, I've had acrylic/gel nails for 20 years now so I've been through my fair share of salons and they're one of the best! To anyone who has had bad service, give them another chance because everyone has their off days =)
