Dr. Jackie Brewer, DVM and the staff at Maybank Animal Hospital are thrilled to have the privilege of carrying on the legacy of Dr. Wilbur Wise and Strock-Wise Animal Hospital. To provide the best possible continuity of care, Dr. Brewer will consult with Dr. Wise as needed. It's an honor to be stepping in for such a beloved group of caregivers, and we at MAH look forward to meeting all of Dr. Wise's current clients and patients, and welcoming new clients to our clinic family. At Maybank Animal Hospital, we strive to offer high quality and compassionate veterinary care. Our goal is to maximize the quality years that you have with your four-footed friend.

Services/Products

Maybank Animal Hospital is a full-service medical, surgical, dental, and advanced imaging center. We have our own in-house specialty services and laboratory, and provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures, including a variety of specialized ultrasound services. We also work closely with local specialty practices when outside specialized care is required. If the need arises, MAH also offers boarding accomodations for your pet. For our clients with dogs, you may choose from an indoor/outdoor kennel with run, climate-controlled indoor kennels, and the option for your pet to socialize in one of our gated play areas. For our feline family, we offer a climate-controlled Kitty Condo, allowing your cat the choice of quiet alone time or socializing with others in the secure common area. We are also a registered drop-off point for any injured or rescued wildlife. Please be very cautious with any wildlife you may come into contact with and call us immediately. If you have found an injured animal, please follow the basic information outlined below: * Minimize noise * Minimize handling and stress *Keep pets and children away from wildlife *Do not offer wildlife food, especially not cow's milk *Remember, your safety comes first!

Dr. Brewer received her doctorate from Ross University in 1999. She practiced and operated clinics in New York, California, and Florida before moving to Charleston in 2009. She has worked as a relief veterinarian for the last two years at various clinics in the Tri-County area and is thrilled to be starting her own practice here on James Island. Dr. Brewer is passionate about community involvement. She helps raise and rehabilitate orphaned wildlife with Keepers of the Wild, and also works as a relief veterinarian for Pet Helpers' spay/neuter clinic and shelter. Dr. Brewer is the vice president of the Trident Veterinary Medical Association. Her work has been cited and published in multiple medical journals.
