Hello, I sent my guitar in for a pick up swap, and a set up, not only did they order the wrong parts, never call to tell me, and push the date back 4 times, but this whole process took a full month. When I finally came to get my guitar, the pick ups were installed very sloppy and after playing it I realized that it had buzz all over the neck and upon inspection (and sitting there while the owners argued for half an hour) it turns out Phil, "Never got around to it because he didn't have the time".
I complained and was only charged for parts, as I waked out I was called back in by Phil himself only to be blatantly told, "**** you!" immediately after, his wife and co-owner received the same verbal abuse. And After a 5 minute verbal altercation (in front of customers and all) I left.
Later I returned and demanded my parts money back.
Please, heed my warning and do NOT use this store, unless you want shoddy work and mistreatment.
Spend an extra 10 dollars for quality work, a single day of repair time and 5 star treatment at Guitar Center, I know I will.

Even if you don’t play the guitar, you should go here, just because of the awesomeness. This is the best music store ever. Friendly and helpful staff, talented teachers, and awesome gear. The most knowledgeable folks anywhere and always the best price. The owner is the coolest person I have ever met, period. And as if all this weren’t enough, this is simply a cool place to hang out… it feels like home. Sadness is an emotion reserved only for people who don’t shop at McKnight.

Let me start off this review with stating, I am an old timer and have been playing off and on for the last 40 + years. Ive delt with guitar stores all over the country since the late 60;s. Almost every city has a local guitar store that is run by someone that is into music and guitars and knows what they are talking about. This is one of them. I now do all of my step ups and tune ups here, any custom work i run through them...whether its a Gibson, Martin, Fender, etc..i have bought guitars here..and if i didnt live so darn far away (out in Maricopa) I would spend more time there just hanging out (much to their dismay). This is one of the better stores in town and from what i have seen will match the prices of anything they have you can find Guitar Center or on Musicians Friend or Music 123. The service has always been great. One of my top 3 all time favorite guitar stores...the other being the Guitar Cellar in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the other being Sounds Inc. in Boone and Ames, Ia. (which has been defunct for about 30 years now). Anyway, stop in...have a chat with them when they arent busy. A great local store and an asset to the community! Anyone that says otherwise is probably a loon, immature or just plain unreasonable... otherwise i wouldnt be taking 50 or more year old vintage guitars there to have work done on them. Rock On Bro's!
