We had a really great dinner here and will be back! The food was excellent, our server was fantastic, and the atmosphere and faux Italian coziness of the place was just what I needed after a long stressful week. We had a stracciatella with grape tomatoes to start paired with some San Giovese wine which I loved. It was dry velvety rusty and rasberry - made me very happy. For Secondi I had a gorgonzola primivera salad which consisted of sliced green apples, grapefruit and (walnuts?). My gorgeous man had some seasonal veggies with olive oil, sea salt and pepper. For our entrees I had a Penne with tomato sauce and eggplant. It was so fantastic. Hot and tangy and the pasta was perfect, there were tiny bits of eggplant here and there with such a great texture. It's so easy to overcook eggplant. This eggplant was not mushy nor too firm. The boyfriend had some gnocchi with asiago cheese = cheese potato pockets of goodness. I stole more than one taste across the table. They were pillowy and the granular cheesiness paired well with the soft texture of the gnocchi. I almost wished I ordered it but was quite happy with my penne.

We have relatives in Chandler, so when we visit, we now make it a point of visiting La Stalla Cucina Rustica. Exceptional restaurants in Chandler seem hard to find, but we've thoroughly enjoyed both visits here. Located in Old Town Chandler, the restaurant features a beautiful atmosphere. It seats a max of about 100 comfortably; the ambiance is upscale and romantic. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion without breaking the bank. We loved all the pasta we've had, and the salmon was excellent for both visits. This time we had the chocolate soufflé for desert, and it was delicious, and a little larger than the typical size. The service has always been impeccable; you won't find any 18 year old inexperienced servers here. This is not the kind of restaurant to bring noisy kids to. There is also a bar. Very classy without being stuffy. Can't recommend high enough.
...not a Mexican restaurant I've been to this restaurant in Cali, where I grew up. So when I found out this had opened a couple of years ago, I had to go. Yummy home-cooked food my lolas & aunties used to make. I can cook most of these dishes, but sometimes I just want someone else to do it for me, you know? Love the CRISPY PATA - have to order this every time you go. Some things are a little pricey, but if you crave it, you might as well order it. Ambiance is typical filipino style w/ decorations of our culture and of course...a big flat screen showing either filipino news or a filipino game show/karaoke show. Service is ok, but that's typical in a filipino restaurant. They're there to cook you some good food & that's about it. They're Dinaguan and Pork Sinigang are tasty too. Try it out for yourself.
