i stayed at the best western golden buff lodge for 5 nights this past week, settling my son in to college. the rooms are basic, but clean. i wish i had had time to use the hot tub and excercise room, but got into the lovely pool briefly one day. the location is pretty perfect. it seemed everytime i asked where something was, it was a block away. breakfasts were great, offered between 7 and 10 AM with lots of options, including yogurt and fresh fruit. the youthful staff was incredibly friendly and helpful; i asked them questions daily; , "how do i get to ...?", "what restaurant would you recommend that i can walk to?", "where can i get a massage?" (day 5!) and they were ever so happy to pull a map out and explain directions to me. since i was traveling without a laptop, the fact that there is one available in the office, online and hooked up to a printer was a great convenience. all in all, an easy, breezy, quiet, comfortable place to stay while in boulder.
