AVOID! APARTMENT MGR ADMITTED THEY SKIRT UTAH LAWS TO CHARGE MORE FEES! AMC PROPERTIES ARE UNTRUSTWORTHY BASED ON THEIR MANY LAWSUITS.



Utah law says it's illegal to take money from a deposit to pay for cleaning/wear and tear damages. So AMC owned complexes don't charge a deposit, and then directly charge for cleaning/wear and tear damages when you leave. Through a series of emails I contested the charges, the manager admitted that if I had paid a deposit they wouldn't charge those fees but since there was no deposit they said they were justified.



I also caught them lying in regards to the "damages". At my exit walkthrough they said that the walls showed no damages, then they charged me painting fees for damaged walls. I asked where the damages were and why they said there were no damages, they refused to say and couldn't even tell me WHERE the damages were. They said they'd send me to collections, I said I'd sue, they dropped the damage fees. SHADY, AVOID AMC OWNED PROPERTIES!
