Our dog came back so emaciated & covered in feces, it was a wonder he could still stand. When we inquired about his deplorable condition, they actually had the gaul to say that he came to them looking like that! If anything, our dog was overweight (and thankfully so) when we brought him in. We took him to our vet who said it was his opinion that our dog had not been fed the entire two weeks that we had been away. (although we left them a huge bag of food and extra treats, which I'm sure went to the Great Danes that they breed there). Our dog had apparently become so starved that he actually ate rocks and had to be expensively treated for it.
My boss, who coincidentally just used this place not knowing about my experience, came back from vacation and found his dog had DIED in their care!!!! They didn't even tell him until he went to pick the dog up. They claimed it was doggie infuenza that caused it, along with a couple other dogs. However, if you do any research on it, you'll see that it VERY rarely is fatal - 5% of the time. I'm willing to bet that his dog starved to death.
If you love your pet, do not risk going to Academy Acres. Sure, a few people may have had good experiences, but knowing that they caused the death of my boss's dog and almost starved mine should tell you that the risk is NOT worth it. Seven Hills is a much much better place to put your pet!!!!
