My husband and I recently moved to Cary from Wilmington, NC. Since we love Japanese food, we set out to find our new local favorite. We had received some coupons for Ginza in the mail and decided to give it a try. When we entered, we were immediately greeted and seated at a hibachi table. Within a few seconds, a server was there to take our drink order. I noticed that the other people at our table were already eating soup, so we went ahead and ordered our dinner at the same time. Our soups and salads came out with the drinks, and the chef arrived at the table several minutes later. He did some of the traditional "tricks," but nothing over the top. He wasn't very conversational (possibly a language barrier?), but he was very friendly and attentive when it came to refilling sauces, asking if food was satisfactory, etc. Speaking of the food, it was EXCELLENT. I have probably been to 30 Japanese steak houses in several different countries, and the food at Ginza was probably in the top five. The servings were plentiful, and everything was cooked perfectly. I was equally impressed with the wait staff. Our server was WONDERFUL. Instead of just going through the motions (if you eat out a lot you know what I'm talking about), he actually seemed to be thrilled to be at work. I noticed the same attitude in several of the other servers. They were all smiling and seemed to genuinely be enjoying themselves. Although I think it is well worth it, the prices at Ginza are a little higher than we are accustomed to. On average, I would say most of the items are a few dollars more than our favorite place in Wilmington. However, for the area, they may be average. My husband's steak and shrimp combo was $21.95, and my hibachi chicken as $15.95. With our sodas, our bill came to less than $50.
Coming from someone that is Chinese, its really all not that bad. I was first sceptical about getting anything there for usually most fast food Chinese resturants are awful. But to my suprise, it was acutally pretty good. Haven't had a bad dish yet. Not like Mom used to make, but for fastfood chinese, I must say its pretty good. I would recommend it for their prices are good and the people in there are pretty friendly.
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant one day at lunch and were delighted with the quality of the food, selection, cleanliness and service. The sushi, special grill, and creative soups were wonderful!! This restaurant is also reasonably priced. We had dinner there again last night. I would highly recommend the Hibachi China Buffet for lunch or dinner!!
