Having volunteered in may "non-profits" I've seen a lot of waste and excessive spending. Then I volunteered at Food For Thought in Carson City, Nevada. It is one of the leanest, yet most productive charities I have ever had the pleasure to help! The donations go out the door almost immediately to the children that need it. And it does go straight to the children. It is very discreet, direct and is having a major impact on young children in need! The organization is ran primarily by mothers and grandmothers that have absolutely no financial gain from their 'labors of love'. It is a legitimate organizaiton, that is still small enough that it has not lost it's focus. They are there to help the children. If you ever wonder where your donated dollar will go the furthest, look towards Food For Thought. I give this organization 6 out of 5 stars possible!
Heidi's has been a fixture in Carson City for years. Tons of different types of breakfasts to chose from. Best of all, the waitresses are professional, experienced, traditional breakfast servers so the service is quick and friendly and they get the order right. I took my kids there early in the morning at least once a week while they were in school, so it became a great family time for us. My favorites were the omelettes. My son loves their meaty country gravy with biscuits, eggs, and Italian sausage.
any time we are in the area we make a point of having breakfast at Heidis. The staff are very helpful, fast and efficient. The food is always fresh, home made and tasty. This place is a must for visitors and locals alike.
