Colonial Grand at Hebron

I am not a tenant at this property. I am an applicant who was approved, but HAVE NOT signed a lease.



This complex is managed by MAA.



PROBLEM: I paid $200 less than 48 hours ago to 'hold' an apartment. I found another apartment owned by the same management company as the apartment on 'hold'. I called to cancel the first apartment so that I could lease at the second complex. They will not refund any of the money or transfer it to the new application.



This is the letter I sent to MAA property management company after being deceived by their 'HOLD' policy.



To Whom It May Concern:



Hello.. I recently applied and was approved for your property at Colonial Grand at Hebron in Carrollton, TX (Apt ****). I paid $200 to hold the apartment. LESS THAN 48 HOURS LATER, I visited another one of YOUR properties, and LOVED the property. When I called to cancel my hold at Colonial Grand at Hebron, I was told I could not transfer or have any monies refunded. Its amazing how Shelly (Leasing Agent) forgot to mention that it was NON REFUNDABLE BEFORE I PAID. Unbelievable. THIS IS STILL ONE OF YOUR PROPERTIES! I honestly cannot believe you do this to potential tenants! People who still want to lease with you! I was prepared to complete the process on-site and this has really disappointed me. It makes me question what other unfair practices your company might have. It's bad enough that I will have to endure another credit check to lease with THE SAME MANAGEMENT COMPANY. If anything can be done, I would certainly appreciate it and would love to lease at your community. I will be posting this exact message on all apartment review blogs/websites, including the outcome, FAVORABLE OR UNFAVORABLE. I sincerely hope you make this right.

Apartments are nice but Management is the worst. Not built well, walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. (people having arguments, w/d running late at night, loud music/tv) Manager has no control of residents. She allows them to get away with everything from late hour at pool after close, pet issues, parking issues, speeding etc. breaking the rules. It took almost a year to fix resident vacuum in car wash. This manager has no experience running an apt. complex this size. She spends more time away from the office than being in the office. I have been in 6X on different occassions to talk to her and she has been out all 6X. She is very rude and has a bad attitude. Get a new manager that has more experience with an education that is more professional to handle resident issues.
