Do NOT do business with Pine Lake. I bought a soapstone stove from them and they installed. The stove itself is good...the installation? Not to code and dangerous. When I called them to come clean it, they said they would be there at noon. By 4:30 I was still waiting for them to show. I called and cancelled the cleaning. It proved to be a blessing, for when I got someone else to come, they noticed that the stove pipe was loose and waving in the breeze above the roof line. I had to call another chimney specialist, have my contractor cut a hole in the side of the house in order see what was going on only to find that, not only hadn't they fastened the sections of pipe together, they cut a three foot section out of a supporting roof rafter and never boxed it in. To redistribute the load, so they left me without roof support. Not only that, nothing was to code. I'm lucky the snow load didn't bring the roof down. It is now going to cost me $950 to fix the damage and make things right. I am so lucky they didn't show for the cleaning, otherwise I would never have known the shoddy job they did and the problems they created. Problems that could have resulted in a major fire and/or structural failure of the roof. It was only a matter of time.
Pine lake stoves is a wonderful place to buy a stove for you home. They have the biggest selection available at reasonable prices. The staff is always pleasant and goes above and beyond to help their customers stay warm and happy with their stove. From wood, pellet, gas to electric, generators, propane, space heaters they have it all and if it's not in stock they can order it for you! Great location beautiful store! Home-y adirondack comfortable feel. Pleasant staff always willing to lend a helpin hand.( The old owner is not associated with this staff )
Absolutly without a doubt the worst service ever. When they finally did schedule me was told what was wrong and that they had the part in stock. Was an easy fix so I went to get the part and install it myself so as not to have another 3 week wait,Only to be given the wrong part which was used (that the woman insisted was the right one) The owner was there and gave me the right part but it was over 100.00 more that the price given to me on the phone.Told them forget it ordered it online and saved over 100.00 will never buy from them again!!!

We bought our QuadraFire Pellet insert stove approximately 3 1/2 years ago. When we were in the process of looking at different options, both the type of stove and the vendor, the owner couldn't do enough for us. He called, came out, measured gave us input as to what he thought would work best and accomplish what we wanted. Everything was done with expediency. Until we bought the stove and had it installed. Service is not the name of their game. Presently, we have been without the use of the stove for three weeks. For the initial appt to have the problem evaluated I had to wait over a week for an appt. The service man gets here, is able to diagnose what is wrong with it almost immediately. It was a common problem with normal use of the stove...or so he said. But he didn't have the part. (You would think that with a common problem, he would be carrying the part necessary to fix it) An appt was made for a few days later to install the part. After I didn't hear from him, I called Pine Lake and was then told that he had called in sick. This was at noon. So, we are now into our third week without the use of the stove and AGAIN this morning Pine Lake called and stated they couldn't find the part, 'it must have been put on the truck and taken to the other store'. Mind you, this is the most recent incident, others range from not knowing anything about previous calls, not answering the phones or returning calls. I am totally done with these folks. Next call is to the BBB and to the distributor.

I purchased 2 wood stoves from Pine Lake Stoves a few years ago. In the beginning they were good. Now you call them and no one answers the phone when they are supposed to be open. I called last year to get a price and order a blower motor and ceramic baffels for my stove. They said they would get back to me and never did. So, I cleaned the motor assembly and got through last year. I called again this year again to order the baffels and they are supposed to be on order for 3 weeks now and I haven't heard anything. I called on saturday and the person didn't know anything about my order. Done Done Done with these people!!!

My husband and I purchased a gas stove insert for our summer home located on a lake. With the wind coming in off the lake the pilot light would blow out. Pine Lake stoves came out many many times to fix the problem so the stove could be used even when it was windy. Because we were not here during the week they made every effort to work with the hours we had available. Eventually Pine Lake replaced the stove completly and did more with on the cap, and the stove works great EVEN IN THE WIND. It puts out great heat and we love it. I must say they offered me the best customer service of any company that I have ever dealt with. They never gave up and never charged me any extra fees.

I bought a Regency EX90 wood burning fireplace from Pine Lake's Saratoga store in March 2010. The sales process was good; the owner (Tim Willard) seemed knowledgeable, honest and gave good advice. The price was also fair. From there, it went downhill.
The installation was awful. A few no shows, but mostly mistake after mistake. I was finding parts of the stove in my garage that were not installed, the hearth was not built correctly, and the cap leaked. But the biggest issue is a strong cold drat that comes from the fireplace when not in use. It's like someone left a window open in our living room. The problem is so bad that I have to stuff blankets into the bottom of the unit when not being used.
Pine Lake was responsive at first . Six times they came back to our home to fix various issues, but as of Feb 2011 they refuse to return my calls. I have visited their Saratoga store twice; the owner is nowhere to be found and they will not call me. I don't think they know how to fix the issues so they are ignoring me. For the $6200+ I spent, I expect better. I will be suing Pine Lake to try to get resolution; but if you are in the market for a stove, I would highly recommend Best Fire or Saratoga Fireplace. They are about the same price but MUCH better at installation and follow up based on the experiences of a few of my neighbors and friends.

I bought a New stove from Pine Lake stoves M55 cast. ""when"" the stove works its nice,as far as customer service and parts & service if your looking for that this is not the place to go. I bought the stove in November of 2010 and only got 3 weeks of use from it . the stove is still broke and the sales woman Becky cant seem to schedule the apointment time correctly. (5 times so far this place has messed up on prices and schedules). I wouldnt even give this place one star review. I am sure im not the only one getting a run around. after spending four thousand dollars it seems i would have heat in my house but I dont! so buyer beware.
