Amenities
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless. Some 12 million persons are helped annually by Vincentians in the United States. The list of services of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States is endless. No work of charity is foreign to the Society. To quote our patron, St. Vincent de Paul: "Charity is infinitely inventive."

Our Bad Experience at St Vincent Depaul Thrift Store

We found a few nice things, but I am handicapped, and my grand-daughter, 4 years old was acting like a 4 yr old, and they had no understanding whatsoever. Looking down at us and with total disrespect. Very nasty and rude. Dana and Norris were their names. They should absolutely not be working in customer service, especially for St Vincent Depaul. It is a disgrace to the Church and Organization. We will not go back again.

This Thrift store does not know how to help people. A disgrace!

Store Manager is very rude. When I was there, a lady and gentlemen had a voucher for furniture-they were not treated very well. They were offered only soiled furniture and a piece o wooden furniture(a dresser or entertainment center) that had screws holding it together and sticking out on top. When they didn't take what was offered, they were told, "What, this isn't good enough for you?" I don't think this is the way to treat people you are supposedly trying to help. The manager would not give them the voucher to return another day. She kept it and told them she was reporting that they refused help. This is NOT the way to help people in distress. In addition the manager was shouting at them causing a scene and humiliating these poor people. Shame! I would not spend a penny in this store ever again.

Need help desperately for a car.

Hello There, Hi my name is Lee & Tammy Hurse. I never new that this website or help may be available in this type of a situation. My husband had gotten a job at the local St. Vincent Depaul right at the end of our street. So he rides a bike to work which is great. Unfortunetly, I can't ride a bike at all I was in a really bad car wreck in 1996 and damaged my back. I can't do much walking, standing or even certain movements. I have advance detereation of the lower spine and arthritus of the spine a couple tumers growing on the L5 and L16 spine, plus severe nerve damage. I have a 21/2 yr. old boy and a sixteen year old. So we seemed to be stuck at home all the time and it's really hard to find rides around here if you really don't have any money. We just moved from Pendleton Oregon in August 2010, I've never been to Arizona before and I love it. I have my driver's license but I've been looking for work and I'm a full-time student. I need a car to find a job so we can pay up our Rent.
