Dental Care
At Reed Animal Hospital we offer two types of dental cleaning: Comprehensive dental cleaning which uses anesthesia and non-anesthesia dental cleaning. The pet’s dental health will determine which type of cleaning is best suited for your pet.
Vaccination
Pet vaccinations at Reed Animal Hospital in Campbell and Saratoga play a very important role in your pet’s long-term health and wellness plan. Vaccine’s help prepare your pet’s immune system to fight some very serious disease-causing organisms, and without vaccines your pet is vulnerable. At Reed Animal Hospital we work with you and your pet to set up a safe and personalized schedule for your pet’s vaccinations. We understand that every animal is different and keep factors such as age, medical history, environment, travel habits, and lifestyle in mind when it comes to their care.
Behavioral Counseling
Behavior modification in an unruly pet is not a process that happens overnight. Changing a pet’s behaviors will require an ongoing and consistent routine of positive reinforcement and, in some cases, prescription medication to build better habits and allow you to strengthen your bond. If you are struggling to manage your cat or dog’s behavior at home, Reed Animal Hospital can help you identify the source of bad behaviors to create a specialized behavior modification program that will work for your pet.
Nutritional Counseling
Lymphoma: Cancer of the lymph nodes. Tell tail signs include; loss of appetite, lethargy, coughing along with swollen lymph nodes. Areas of swelling can be behind the shoulders, knees or under the jaw.
Comprehensive Examination
These skin symptoms and behaviors could be caused by a number of different issues, which our veterinarians will generally diagnose via your pet’s medical history and a physical exam. In some cases, such as allergies, more diagnostic test will be necessary.

Arthritis Treatment
The goal of a TPLO surgery is to make the tibial plateau perpendicular to the long axis of the bone. Performed correctly, it will prevent the shin bone(tibia) from moving forward. After the surgery, the stifle will feel stable and the dog will be able to put weight on the leg. This procedure is highly successful in returning our beloved dogs to their normal active selves (usually within a few months) and preventing crippling osteoarthritis later in life.

Our team of veterinarians and technicians are exceptionally trained in patient monitoring under anesthesia. We monitor all of our surgical patients by assessing blood pressure, the percentage of oxygen in the blood (pulse oximetry), respiratory rate, ECG (electrocardiogram), and more.

Cancer Treatment

The veterinarians at Reed Animal Hospital can accurately diagnose the tumor to determine if it is cancerous. The type and severity of the tumor will determine the type of treatment plan, which may include surgery, chemotherapy or radiation.

Wound and Fracture Care
Our veterinarians, technicians, and receptionists are here seven days a week to assist you and your pet in any situation. In the event of an emergency, we are prepared to support your pet with emergency stabilization, laboratory testing and x-rays, pain control, treatments for infection, IV fluids, fracture and wound care, treatment for poisonings or seizures, and referrals to specialty facilities.

Dental Surgery
Domestic animals hide signs of pain or discomfort long after they feel it? Dental disease is a progressive disease, which gives our pets time to “adapt” and “deal with” the pain. By the time they start showing us, it usually means the teeth are too far gone to save and require surgical extraction.
Veterinary Surgery
TPLO, or Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, is a very common orthopedic surgery performed on dogs. The surgery is done to stabilize the knee joint if there is a rupture of the Cranial Cruciate Ligament. This procedure is unique to our pets and is considered the optimal repair of an injured knee joint ligament.
Spaying and Neutering
Neutering provides major health benefits for your male. Besides preventing unwanted litters, neutering your male companion prevents testicular cancer and prostate problems. Aggressive behavior is lessened, reducing the incidence of injury and the “lost dog syndrome.”

Laboratory Services
Complete blood count (CBC), Chemistry, Urinalysis, Fecal Analysis, Skin Cytology, Ear Cytology, Fungal Cultures and more results are available in-house daily.
X-Ray
Dental Radiology
We offer comprehensive dental care including complete teeth cleaning, oral surgery (mass excisions, tooth extractions), and treatments of oral diseases. If dental x-rays are needed, we utilize our digital dental x-ray, which provides excellent detail for evaluating all aspects of the tooth and jaw. Preventative dental care is enhanced by a non-anesthetic dental cleaning and polishing option.
Microchipping
Among the shelter animals that had microchips, but were not reunited, it was found that most had outdated or no owner information registered with their chips. That’s why it’s important to keep your contact information updated.
