Dental Examination
As part of a complete dental examination, Dr. McDonald will evaluate your jaw joints and obtain a dental background to uncover possible signs of TMD. If you have a history of teeth grinding, clenching or jaw pain, she may recommend a TMJ study using xrays and joint vibration analysis to analyze your symptoms and develop a plan to manage them.

Teeth Cleaning
Fluoride Treatment
A proper health maintenance regimen for your smile will include regular visits every 3-6 months to see one of our hygienists for routine cleanings, necessary xrays and a thorough update examination by Dr. McDonald. We may also recommend preventive services such as fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay.
Dental Sealants
We may recommend sealants to prevent cavities in your teeth. A dental sealant is a plastic coating that is painted on the chewing surface of the tooth to seal tiny grooves and help prevent decay-causing bacteria from penetrating the enamel. The plastic sealant material is hardened using a special light, and requires no drilling or anesthetic.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Bonded restorations require very little tooth preparation or drilling, and are applied using etchant and pliable plastic materials designed to adhere the restoration using a special curing light process. These resin composite materials are mercury-free and come in a variety of shades to closely match your own teeth.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom-designed porcelain coverings that are adhered to the front surfaces of teeth to enhance smile appearance. Because they require minimal to no tooth preparation, they are often used to make cosmetic changes to otherwise healthy teeth, such as closing gaps, or to restore contour and shape to worn teeth to create a more youthful appearance. They are the ideal solution for minor smile imperfections such as stained, chipped, slightly rotated or overlapped teeth.
Crowns
A dental crown or “cap” is used to rebuild and cover a tooth that has been structurally compromised by decay, broken-down fillings, or trauma. Crowns can be designed with porcelain facings over metal or all-porcelain, depending on biting forces and location of the tooth in the mouth.
Bridges
