Dukes Service is Vary Question...

Dukes Service is Vary Questionable.

I had my transmission overhauled by them two years ago. With less than twenty five thousand miles later it went complete out. And all they would give me on the original rebuild was a one year guarantee on the completed work. They insisted the transmission would last for years and that if any thing was to go wrong it would happen in the first ninety days. When I took it back to them a 20% discount was all the would give me to rebuild the transmission a second time. Take it or leave it basically. When I said, If that's the best they would do I would take it some where else. They dropped the keys on the counter and just walked away. That's what I call real customer service. I did take my car to three different transmission shops for estimates. All expressed surprise that it went out with less than twenty five thousand miles, and that Dukes 20% wasn't much of compromise considering the transmission went out so soon. Every shop I took it to offered a better guarantee. Ammco actually offered a ten year guarantee. I ended up taking it to TRC Transmission Experts on Pacific Hwy. South. For twenty five hundred dollars I got a Re-Manufactured Transmission installed with a three year/ 100,000 mi. guarantee. Something Dukes never herd of. I don't know about you but I can't afford to spend twenty five hundred dollars or more on a transmission rebuild every couple years. Stay away from Dukes!!! There are better places to go.

Good Work, Fair Price, Honest....

Good Work, Fair Price, Honest... I have dealt with Dukes for many years and have nothing but good things to report..They have always been willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right... I recall the first transmission job they did for me, I mentioned that I hated to have them re-assemble everything just so I could take it apart again to replace a tired radiator... Doug had his parts supplier deliver a new radiator and installed it at no extra cost... The price of the part "Radiator" was actually less or similar in cost to one from a "discount" Auto Parts Store. Most if not ALL shops would have hit me with extra labor and probably doubled the price of the part.. I currently have a non-transmission related problem that I need repaired in a hurry...The first place I called was Dukes to see if their mechanic could get me in within 24 hours...No Problem! was the response. That type of service is very much appreciated...

Overall
Dukes Transmission in Burien s...

Dukes Transmission in Burien shafted me for a transmission 3 speed. First they charged me top dollar (1700) which seemed reasonable till i did my research and noticed the type of parts used to built my transmission cause the casing shell was not in fair condition and used, oil pan was used, kick down cable was not the proper cable( they didnt even put in the right bracket for it). Also my shifter wasnt shifting so i brought my car back and the owner said its not part of my transmission and didnt help me. I later noticed that the cable just needed another clip to put it back on the transmission. So just a clip and they didnt tell me of fix that! IF ANYONES PAYNG TOP DOLLAR THESE MINOR ISSUES SHOULD OF BEEN FIXED. THE TECHS AT DUKES WORK WELL THO! Its the owner that makes u regret giving business. I also left my old transmission for scrap metal out of strength so it just shows Dukes Transmission customer service and business service cause they just want the money! Dukes shop in Burien is mess and not a clean professional shop. TRC TRANSMISSION on pacific highway will take care of you so professionally

this customer was modifying his car for speed performance and started with healthy motor which his th350 lock up trans would not handle and the carburator had no provision for tv cable hook up. Customer wanted a performance trans put in so all the best parts were put in. His cousin was working on the car and every time we recommended a cure his cousin told him he could do it cheaper but then he would bring it back to us to straighten out but he would not buy new cables because the dealer wanted too much. sorry he is not happy with the work he would not allow us to do right or would not buy the right parts because they are too expensive. poor parts or poor workmanship always have a negative outcome.
