You're in a dark parking lot late at night and there is nobody else around. YOu get to your car and start to dig through your pockets to find your keys to open the door, when from out of nowhere somebody slams you into your drivers door from behind and yells at you to give them your keys...What do you do? A. faint from fright. B. try to run away only to realize the guy robbing you runs faster. C. use that really cool elbow spear learned last week, drop the guy, and drive off. This situation can happen to anybody and all it takes is one small situation to leave a person tramatized for life. If you want to learn how to defend yourself then Burbank Krav Maga is the place for you! Burbank Krav Maga grants you the knowledge to protect yourself when things get Bad. The teachers are amazing and the classes are fun. I suggest trying it today because you never know when it could be you in a dark parking lot having to chose option A because you dont know what else to do.
There are two things that make a great martial arts class. A good instructor and a good group of students. Burbank Krav Maga has both. Chris, the instructor, has a talent for breaking down techniques and making students feel at ease. He always pushes his students to do their best while understanding their limits so as not to let anyone get hurt. Everything he teaches has a practical real life application. Through timed repetition he also makes sure we get an awesome workout. Chris makes it very clear that his class has one goal, to make sure we all get home safe every day. The students provide a very friendly and encouraging environment. Even as a brand new student you immediately feel like you are being welcomed into the family. As most techniques require us to pair up and practice, this is a huge plus for the class. Everyone wants to help you get better and encourage you along the way. A class full of really good people. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did.
I am a little reluctant to write this review, I feel like Burbank Krav Maga is the best kept secret in town. The membership is 6 months instead of a year, and the monthly is about $40-$60 less per month than some other un-named Krav Maga studios (yes I shopped around quite a bit). Small to medium class size (10-18 people), which amounts to tons of individual training. Chris (the main instructor) is extremely knowledgeable, generous with his time, and has a knack for breaking down the technique. The students are unbelievably supportive and encouraging. There is a lot of fun and joking around in class, but when its time to get down to business everyone is committed to helping each other get better. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is I look forward to every class.
