WHAT a horrible experience I shared at the location near UB on the 4th of July this year. I came in with a friend to grab something to eat and drink after working a 12 hr shift at my job. First off there was almost no one at the bar and a small party in the dining room. We sat at the bar after confirming with a waitress that they were indeed still serving food until 1am. After deciding what we wanted we then sat and waited for close to 15 minutes while the bartender avoided us. I made eye contact with him twice and tried to motion that we were ready but he avoided us still. He was literally moving super slow and not tending to more then one drink at a time. He then finally made his way over and made it quite apparent that we were a total inconvience of his time. After ordering food, my friend ordered a beer. When asked for ID, my friend casually took his ID out and flipped it in the air before placing it face up on the bar and sliding it across to the bartender. The bartender looked at it and as he walked away commented ""its a violation of state law to throw your ID at me, next time I'm not serving you a drink just so you know"" WHAT?? This man, an elderly man with glasses and disappearing hairline, obviously had to have had something up his a** that day. We immediately cancelled our ordered and left.
Service was terrible, food has never been good when I have had take out at other people's houses and we will never be back, just based upon this experience alone. Unless they fire that man and get some good service I highly recommend you don't waste your time. I wanted to give this a ZERO rating but the site made me give one star

This used to be a small restaurant/take-away/delivery but it's expanded and can now hold banquet-sized parties. I've been going here for years and years and find it to be a good and reliable restaurant. The pizza is above average. The pasta is great (note the Tuesday pasta specials), especially the sauce, and so are the mozzarella and ricotta cheese used in the baked ziti. The chef salad is better than average (cici beans and onions in addition to lettuce) and the Italian dressing is very good. Also, the garlic knots and pastries (the brownies and turnovers in particular) are fresh and delicious.
I've nearly always had prompt, courteous, friendly service when I've picked up my food or eaten at the restaurant. Delivery is usually good but, I have, on rare occasions, had problems with ""missing items""--for instance, the driver forgot the soda bottle...
This is a ""Steady Eddy"" sort of place that excels in consistently providing value for the $$.
