Initially I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the place. It looked like a run of the mill pizza joint from the outside, but inside it made an attempt to look like a family eatery. Then I sat down, the tables were dirty, silverware, cheese containers, glasses. I was still willing to give this place a chance, because I heard the food was good. I ordered the chicken parm. It was a dried out piece of chicken with sauce poured over it. Throw on some al dente penne and youve got a 16.00 meal. The glass of wine I ordered was 7.00. During the meal I was bombarded with flies of all varieties. I can only imagine what the kitchen area looked like if there were that many flies in the dining room. At one point I glanced into the back room area (which is quite visible) and witnessed a server eating from one of the salad plates. Needless to say I WILL NOT be returning. In fact, I think I want to update my shots after that place.
This is a very cozy place to eat. Awesome food every time and lots of it!! Always a great server. We love it and is now our favorite Italian resturant. We tell all our friends to try it out. We were actually looking forward to going there this weekend, but they were packed all weekend because of Mothers Day...the owner said it is their busiest weekend and to make a reservation whenever it is a holiday weekend....next time we will remember....Love Carmines!!

This place used to be a lot better. Maybe there's a new owner, how else to explain it? But every time I go to Carmine's it just gets worse and worse.
Portions used to be huge, and now they're skimpy. We always ordered the steak salad and a steak pizza to share, and the last time we were there they had removed the steak pizza altogether & the steak salad that we ordered was just made of .99¢ bag lettuce and 4 little pieces of steak. So my dining partner and I ended up with 2 measly pieces of steak in our salad. And it was expensive! But I did like the candied nuts in it. I'll give it that much credit.
The full loaded chicken pizza looked good on the plate and had NO FLAVOR. The veggies were plain, not roasted and the whole thing tasted like cardboard.
I had gently complained about the portion size of the salad to the maitre d and was offered free dessert. The apple pie was tasteless (was probably store bought) but the cannoli was pretty good, although I'm not buying the maitre d's ""line"" about it being a 40yr old recipe.
The waitress was void of personality and had basically no clue how to answer a few of our simple questions.
Over all it was a disappointing visit, a complete waste of money, and we won't return...ever.
