    PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE.

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. Dishonest, horrible place should not be there. They tried to rip me off $500 dollars. If I could give zero stars I would.

    PLEASE DON'T GO

    Provided by

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. THEY ARE THIEFS ! I BROUGHT MY CAR FOR A REGULAR ANNUAL OIL CHANGE AND THEY ENDED UP BREAKING TWO PARTS THAT THEN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE ENDED UP SPENDING THOUSANDS. THEY ARE JUST PURE AND SIMPLE DISHONEST AND THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE NOT DOING. THEY SHOULDN'T BE IN BUSINESS.

    Run Away

    Provided by

They quoted over $1,500 to fix a problem that eventually cost $100 to solve. I could go on, but the other negative reviews cover it.

Can't NYS Reject This Scam Artist's MV Inspection Authority?

    Provided by

Went to my local gas station the other day for a simple NYS inspection. Should have read these reviews first . They called to say vehicle failed because of brakes completely worn out and rear tires worn--angling for a brake job. I refused to have them do the work, picked up car, took it to a garage I trust. Brakes were only 50% worn front and back, tires were OK. Passed. But this is really a ""fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"" story. Went through this at the same place a couple years ago, they told me the same thing--brakes and tires dangerously worn. My dealer said nonsense. Swore at that time I'd never go back. My only excuse is their convenient location, and sticker near expiration. But NEVER AGAIN!!!

Worst customer service I've ever experienced

    Provided by

HORRIBLE place. The owner is the biggest dick I've ever dealt with in a customer service setting. Rude on the phone, rude in person. Terribly overpriced. Service was abysmal. I overheard them tell a customer ""Get the f*** out of here"". Avoid this place like the plague.

    Shell Station Con Job

    Provided by

The key scam appears to be Struts. These guys seem to tell everyone that a car's struts are failing and major work is needed. Avoid this service station. They prey off the average person's lack of knowledge about car repair and figure everyone in the neighborhood is a bookish nerd too dumb to figure out what they don't need.

    Be Suspicious

    Provided by

My A/C went out. Needed freon. A friend told me he just went there and had his struts replaced. I went. Their estimate for the A/C was $1000+. Apparently, the whole kit and kaboodle needed replacing. He then told me that my struts were very weak. (I see the previous reviews were told the same thing.) I was suspicious, considering I had been to a Honda dealer six week before for an engine light issue and asked them to look over the car for anything that may need attention. Sure enough, I asked my friend if he had been told his struts needed to be replaced. He had brought it in for an inspection and, sure enough, the guy told him his back end was sagging. I'd glean from personal experience, secondary testimony, and the reviews posted here, the mechanics are full of it and will try to bilk you out of money. Go elsewhere.

    WARNING - rip off merchants - asking $775 for a $20 job!

    Provided by

Do not use this Shell for any service work. Go to Alfa Motors instead (0.6miles away) 547 Hicks Street, Brooklyn (718) 596-3977 ask for Ami. It turns out my friend has been taking his cars here for years - Alfa Motors - 5 STAR!\r \r My husband and I were referred to this Shell by AAA. We were several blocks away, the car was making a SCREECHING, metal horrible noise (all of the sudden), but we were able to nurse it to the station. Shell put the car on the lift and did a diagnostic. The estimate was $775! Their analysis - left frozen brake caliper which damaged our brake system (newly replaced 3 1/2 months ago) - therefore we need to replace calipers, brakes pads, brakes disks and new cables with hydraulic system bleed.\r \r We did not have the time or cash available to do the entire job that day and just wanted them to patch us together with the one new caliper ($380 total estimate), but they would not do the job unless we were going to do the full $775 job. We even pleaded them and said we could do the entire job with them next week, but just needed help to get on the road now. They were on the phone with the ""owner"" and said that he said no and they had no power. We paid the $65 diagnostic fee and screeched to Alfa Motors, our friend had just texted us the info.\r \r We pulled into Alfa. Ami put the car on the lift, called us to join him under the car and proceeded to pry a little stone out of the brake cover by the brake rotor. FIVE minutes and $20 (plus a $20 tip for our thankfulness) and we were on the road with a PERFECT car.\r \r We promptly drove back to the Shell and plopped the stone on the counter. They promptly returned our $65 diagnostic fee. At least that …\r \r I cannot believe that Shell did not see the rock during the diagnostic. Swindlers for sure!

    Cobble Hill SUPER SCAM SERVICE

    Provided by

I brought my car in for an inspection. I received a call from one of the ""mechanics"" telling me that I need to replace all 4 struts, the coolant, Oil change, 1 tire and wiper blades. I told him I would pick up the car and get it done. I used to be a mechanic and I can take care of most of it. The ""mechanic"" then back peddled and said all I need to pass inspection was a new tire and wiper blades. Now I was sure this was a scam. I went to pick up the car. I agree the tire was worn. My wiper blades were replaced 3 months ago and I had no problem with them. You are at their mercy at this point because the inspection forms have already been submitted to the DMV. I paid them for the inspection (37.00) and asked how much the re-inspection would cost. He said 10 or 15 dollars. I went and got 2 new tires for the price they were going to charge for 1($200) and replaced the wiper blades. I then went back for the re-inspection. They refused to do the re-inspection. They said they only do inspections in the morning. ( This was a lie!! A woman came in while I was there picking up my car at 2:30 that asked for an inspection on the spot. They said OK to her?) They said the owner would be back in an hour and I would have to talk to him. I didn't wait. I went to a L & B on 4th Ave.\r \r

Do Not Expect Honesty or a Reasonable Quote.

    Provided by

I advise anyone to steer clear of this repair station for all the reasons stated in the other reviews. The owner has no respect for his clients and will quote you an outrageous price for any work that might or might not need to be done on your vehicle. The attitude of the owner is disrespectful and he treats you with contempt if you try to question him about his assessment or price quote. Any questions you have about your options are summararily dismissed or ridiculed. I got more information from a customer sitting in his office than I did from the owner. The people who work for him are mostly non English speaking which is fine, except they cannot answer any of my questions. I got a quote from him for work on my vehicle that amounted to about $2500 for a part and $550 for labor. I called my mechanic and he quoted me the same job for $1800 complete (including part, labor and a year guarantee). That's just my experience with this business. Not to mention that they charge about 50c more per gallon of gas than other gas stations in Brooklyn.

    Beware!

    Provided by

Our car is in immaculate shape. I brought it in for a State Inspection there, I was told by the owner we needed new struts. Not one to argue, I paid $1000 for them even though the normal signs (drifting; looseness; bouncing) weren't apparent; later that day, I noticed the front right fender had been hastily replaced and was out of plane with the adjacent panels. I know it was them because I obsessively clean my car several times daily, and know every inch of it. When I suggested it must've been one of his workmen, and that I was not upset about it but wanted him to be fair and fix it, he said it wasn't his fault and that for all he knew anything could've happened after I drove away; I told him nothing had happened - showing him that there were no scratches or other signs anywhere that would indicate something had in fact happened - and that I really just wanted him to be fair after I spent $1000 at his shop in good faith. He literally threw a garbage can at me and yelling, told me to get off his lot. Those looking for professional and fair service with accountability will not find it here. If you need to go, make sure you look your car up and down before and after bringing it here to avoid having to pay out of pocket to repair sloppy workmanship.
