General Info:
A Park Slope institution since 2001, Blue Ribbon Brooklyn is a lively night spot and family-friendly version of the SoHo original Blue Ribbon. Our menu is much the same as at our SoHo flagship, including fresh seafood shucked and shelled to order from a long oyster bar, as well as our special Brooklyn take on many Blue Ribbon classics such as matzo ball soup, hummus, fried chicken and paella. Our atmosphere is casual, comfortable and relaxed. We feature a full bar with select draft and bottle beers, creative cocktails and an extensive wine list.

Your food selection is fantastic! I have eaten here 4 or 5 times and have always enjoyed it. Street parking is a little tough, but this place is good. Anytime I mention Blue Ribbon, anyone who knows of it gives it accolades!
Your southern foods are really stick to the ribs good comfort food.
See you soon!

Sushi Fantastico

Sushi being one of my primary food groups, I can be and have been particularly picky about what I expect. Knowing Blue Ribbon's reputation, I arrived expecting a lot. They didn't disappoint. From the freshest cuts of a variety of seasonal fish to the great Sake collection, I was very happy with my experience. A friendly staff kept our table of 11 (yes, eleven!) fed well and taken care of, with no complaints from anyone in our group. I could go on and on about the menu, but really, everyone has their own favorites. If you like sushi, this is worth a visit. Or Two, Or More.

Great SushiBad Staff

As much as I like coming here for my sushi fix, the wait staff can sometimes ruin the experience. The sushi, sashimi and rest of the fish dishes are very good. Everything taste fresh and flavorful. The omakase I ordered a few times had a nice presentation. The fried chicken is very good too, for you non-raw fish eaters. Been here a bunch of times with friends and everyone has always enjoyed their meal.

The staff, however, needs some work. More often than not, I'll get someone cold and expressionless who tends to mumble. So asking them questions usually requires a hearing aid and a translator to get an answer. Also, ordering something else, if you want to, requires a bit of a wait as the waiters tend to take their time to check on you or even refill water. If it weren't for a poor waitstaff, this place would be a top spot in Brooklyn.

Overated!! Will Not Recommend!!

My girlfriend and I finally decided to give Blue Ribbon a try during the Brooklyn Restaurant Week 2010. We both ordered the $25 three course meal. The miso soup was okay, seaweed salad was nothing spectacular. I give the sushi and sashimi a score of 6 out of 10. The sushi were better than sashimi for some reason. Sure glad we tried them during restaurant week or I'll be definitely upset by the pricey menu & mediocre fish. There are other superb sushi options in Park Slope such as Yamato on 7th Avenue.

Wow did i have a great meal here! Thank goodness Blue Ribbon sushi came to Brooklyn.! The food is fresh and well presented, and the sakes are superb. Can't wait to go back.

The worst experience ever.

Last night my wife and I went to Blue Ribbon in park slope. We arrived in New York 2 days ago and expected to have a nice bite and some easy ambience. A friend of mine, a Wall Street lawyer and a foodie recommended this spot. We weren't looking for the best food or service just a decent place for a pregnant woman and her husband.
We set at the bar, our favorite spot and I ordered beer from ""Adam"" that was quite friendly ; Then we ordered food.
We wanted to start with some appetizers before checking on the king crab as Adam recommended.
The beetroot salad was flavorless and had 3 cubes of tomato on top. The asparagus were blanched (cooked) probably at the same time we landed at JFK and the ribs, a plastic like dry pieces marinated and braised in an artificial flavor sauce were simply bad.
The highlight of our night was a drunken guy named Brian. The village full of Blue ribbon in Brooklyn. Apparently this guy is a usual at the bar. He set next to us and started talking to my wife. We were friendly until he became rude and obnoxious. (Asking my wife what was she doing with an ""ugly guy"" referring to me). We tried to be polite and Adam tried to get rid of this guy and was apologizing repeatedly. When he failed to get rid of this drunken fool he sent us OUR CHECK as if he wanted us out. The manager that was at the end of the bar babbling with some waiters did nothing. We decided to take off leaving the free desert that was sent to us at the bar. Don't go there! The food is less than average and the bar is a neighborhood spot for older, aggressive drunk locals

One of my fav places!

This is the best fish restaurant in Brooklyn. Everything is always fresh and delicious. If they told me the wait would be 2 hours I really would not care, this is how good this place is. For years now it has always kept its good reputation unlike a lot of places when they get a good name they than go down hill. It is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for!

Manhattan in Park Slope

This place is fun and exciting. The bar is lively and a great place for a single to snatch a bite and chat up the locals. The Seafood is always fresh and the oysters are perfect. I always yearn for whelk season and run right over for my share.

The salt and pepper shrimp are a bit of work pealing and all, but worth the effort. The foie Gras with challah bread is a rich and savory dish.

Everything is BETTER in Brooklyn at Blue Ribbon!!!

I absolutely love love love love love this place. I don't waste my money getting food in the City anymore. I just go straight to Blue Ribbon because I always get great service, great food, great ambiance, just a wonderful experience every time I go back. Tonight will be my 5th time going back in the last 2 months.

Long waits but worth it.

We had made plans to have dinner at the Italian restaurant next door but they were closed for Labor Day weekend, so we stumbled into Blue Ribbon as it was the only other upscale place worthy of a birthday dinner. It was a Friday night and the hostess warned us of a 45 minute wait. However the bartender kept us occupied with a free drink and we were actually seated in 20 minutes. The food was inventive and delicious. My steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was great and our waiter was casual but informed.
