As a manager of a highly regarded medical office in Manhattan, I was looking forward to a perfect career in Health Care. Out of a sudden there was a Federal investigation into our office that ended up with some bust and heavy indictments. Although I was not directly responsible for the Medicare fraud scheme my reputation and future was at stake. Eventually the Feds indicted me as well on several criminal conspiracy charges which are hardest to beat, especially in New York. On top of that, I was accused of "sexual harassment" which was really bizarre. Nevertheless, I felt and smelled the doom, and that was the time to find THE best NY criminal defense attorney. I checked out various ratings and reviews and chose Bukh Law Firm for their flawless reputation. From the first time I entered their office I was comforted to the point where I was exactly certain of the result. I was given enough care and attention, even after-hours. The attorneys never missed a court hearing which alone is rare occasion based on what I heard from other people. The lead attorney Arkady Bukh did a great job of cutting a perfect deal for the insurance fraud case, and the sexual abuse case was simply dismissed. Today, I am back on track. Thank you so much for a marvelous effort.
I have been in this business for many years and I have used several law firms before I met Balsamo, Rosenblatt &amp;amp; Cohen, P.C. They are simply the best! They cover every Housing Court in New York City on a daily bases. TENANTS RIGHTS and LANDLORDS RIGHTS. They are experts in both. They are feared by other attorneys. They have the knowledge to litigate your case properly and they have the ability to take your case to Trial if the matter can not be settled. I gave them 1 of my 7 buildings as a test. They did such a great job that they got a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th building until they got my entire account. The best part of using them is that they save me tens of thousands of dollars every year over what my other attorneys were charging me. They do better work. They charge less and they are available to take my calls 24/7 on Robert Rosenblatt's cell phone number (917) 838-1220. They fight like Pitt Bulls for your rights. They are intimidated by no one and they have a tremendous knowledge of the law. You can not do better than this firm. I give them my highest recommendation!!
I was served with eviction papers. I went to Court without a lawyer and I saw that the landlord's attorney was trying to give me a bunch of BS and he tried to force me to sign an agreement to move out within a month. I almost signed the agreement. Then I asked the Judge if I could have the time to get a lawyer. The Judge was cool with me and gave me an adjournment. Then I found these guys online. I went and hired them. They found out that the landlord had violated the certificate of occupancy by renting a two family house to three different tenants. They told me that the landlord can not collect any rent because of the illegal apartment. They got me 5 months RENT FREE. I was shocked because I was ready to move in a month. In the 5 free months that I got, I was able to save a lot of money and I now have a great apartment. They are great lawyers for tenants rights. They fought with the landlord's lawyer and they got me a great deal. I paid them a few hundred dollars and they got me thousands of dollars in free rent! They are great lawyers!
This lawyers in this firm are most aggressive. Whether its a personal injury issue, non-payment, Holdover or a real estate closing, they will be available 24/7 to assist you. I called this firm on a Saturday evening, expecting to leave a message on an answering machine. Instead I was forwarded to Robert Rosenblatt's cell phone. He spoke to me for almost one half hour and he gave me excellent legal advice. I was very impressed with his knowledge of the law and his ability to spend his Saturday night speaking to me on the phone. The following Monday I was in their office to retain them. They did an excellent job representing my rights. They charged me a fee that was much less than other law firms wanted to charge me and the work they did was probably twice as much as I would have received from the other firm. I was very pleased with the services they provided. I know use them on all my legal needs and they are always there to give me great advice and exceptional legal representation.
My husband and I were accused of child abuse in 2014, and Ms. Ibok was my court-appointed attorney. She's a consummate professional: very attentive, organized and detail-oriented. She makes sure to take time and explain her strategy to her client, making certain that they understand fully all the proceedings and outcomes. She's very sincere, it was evident that the outcome of every hearing mattered to her, as it did to me. She was very compassionate and listened to me without judgment. Sometimes I left her office after 10 pm – she spent many hours and late nights on my case, studying it closely, pouring over every detail and preparing me. When she offered to file for a 1028 hearing, no one (including caseworkers) believed it would work, but we got the kids back before the final ruling. 9 months later, the courts gave us our children back to us permanently. Everything she did was in my best interest and following her advice was the best thing I could do for my family and my own sanity.
Wilson LaFaurie singlehandedly saved my friend's life. Falsely accused and imprisoned for 9 months in a domestic violence case backed up by pictures and medical evidence, Wilson believed in his case and dedicated his time, energy, and effort to at least getting my friend off with a misdemeanor and time served rather than 4 felonies with 7 years. The price of a great lawyer is worth every penny when your loved one gets their life back. With Wilson, there was always a high level of confidence and always walked us through the process. Wilson not only got my friend out of jail and out of a 7 year sentence but he got EVERY SINGLE COUNT ACQUITTED. Without Wilson LaFaurie, my friend would still be in prison for 7 years. In a case where there was no hope, he did what was nearly impossible and brought true justice. The jury believed in my friend's story so much that they waited outside of the courthouse to speak with and hug my friend. Wilson shined a light on the truth.
Once again, the wife has to help the husband to help his boss. With out names there is a Warehouse in E. New York Brooklyn, that is privately owned. Part of this facility was leased with a lease to a sub-tenant who was suppose to be out this past Monday the 4th. The owner lost his cool, and was ready to well you know. ( I'can't type the rest.) I found Robert, on a Saturday, and he answered his cell rightway. Brooklyn based willing to travel to see client on Monday. For both of them it seemed like a good fit. Monday meeting, and formal paperwork to be filled. Unless having an attorney present makes this other sub-tenant move. Didn't ask anything about fees; but I do see there is a special on yelp. on the phone, and I hate to assume but all will be dealt with Monday. I think a new business connection for two Brooklyn born business men.will go well. I'm hoping to refer him to my cousin also in Brooklyn, who maybe having landlord /tenant issues down the line.
I am a relatively small landlord, owning several units throughout NYC, but mostly in Brooklyn. Although I am well versed with the laws and regulations surrounding landlord and tenant issues, after being to court and seeing the city court system first hand a few times, I knew I needed a lawyer. A friend of mine, another landlord, recommended me to Mr. Rosenblatt for the trouble I’ve been having with several tenants, while most of the big law firms wouldn’t give me the time of day. Mr. Rosenblatt gave me his full and detailed attention during our several consultation sessions. He listened to my needs and demands, but was realistic in explaining my options. His confidence and knowledge was beyond impressive and he assured me quick and positive results. I couldn’t be happier with the services I received, and quite frankly, would recommend Balsamo & Rosenblatt over any lawyer I’ve ever met or worked with in the past.
I don't normally comment on these sites, but after the excellent services I received by Mr. Rosenblatt during my eviction case, I felt I just had to say something on his behalf. I had been living in the same building for ten years, and my landlord decided he wanted me out. The landlord brought me to court and tried to intimidate me into moving. I was scared but I knew I needed a lawyer. I met one of Mr. Rosenblatt's associates in court, who walked me back to their office for a consultation. Mr. Rosenblatt jumped at the opportunity to meet me, and finished my paperwork before our meeting was over! He said he could get me a great deal, but my landlord has been so mean, I didnt think I had a chance. Thanks to Mr. Rosenblatt's fierce negotiating with the landlord's lawyer, the landlord had to pay ME to move out, and got me 3 months for free! I thought I was being evicted, and Mr. Rosenblatt saved me. Thank you so much!
GREAT ATTORNEY! He is the kindest and warmest attorney I have ever come into contact with...exceptionally bankruptcy attorneys. I spoke with 3 others bankruptcy attorneys when I decided to file and he was the only one that spoke to me as an individual, patiently explained the process and was willing to file my case before I paid him in full-no other attorney was willing to do that. He understands that the reason you are claiming bankruptcy is because you are broke and most of us don't have $1500 to shell out at one time. In addition to his pleasant demeanor he is good at what he does! He made sure of all the details before the hearing and made sure I was well prepared. He is very accessible via phone or email. We did our entire transaction over the phone and email. The first time we met was the day of my hearing. So for people with a busy schedule he is very accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend him.
The legal profession is vast, with each attorney having his or her specialties. Here are some of the most common attorneys individuals seek out when they require legal aid:
A criminal defense lawyer is probably the attorney the average person imagines. Criminal attorneys are the men and women who defend individuals accused of a crime. The lawyer may work pro bono - for the public good - so the accused is certain to have representation, even if he or she cannot afford an attorney.
Criminal lawyers are experts in the criminal justice system. They help their clients decide how to plead when first charged by the police and guide them through trial procedures. Defense lawyers must use every bit of their knowledge and resources to get their clients the fairest results from criminal proceedings.
If you are a small business owner or the head of a larger corporation, you may come into contact with a business lawyer. Many big companies keep a legal staff on payroll to deal with the daily operations of running and maintaining a large enterprise. Business lawyers may have more specific specialties like copyright law, product liability and mergers and acquisitions.
Business attorneys may focus their practices on certain industries. There are entertainment lawyers to guide artists through royalties and media contracts, while hospitals employ malpractice attorneys to protect doctors from aggressive litigation.
When you work for a company, you may find yourself in need of an employment lawyer - especially if the relationship between you and your employer sours. An employment attorney prevents people from losing their jobs due to unfair reasons. Workers' compensation lawyers help maintain safe employment conditions and ensure workers receive fair compensation after workplace injury or discrimination.
A personal finance attorney can protect and manage your investments and securities. You may use a finance lawyer to help you prepare your taxes, but you might be better off working with an accountant. A tax attorney is more commonly contacted after a business or individual runs into trouble with the IRS or state regulators.
Real Estate Lawyer
Your family may keep a lawyer on retainer to guide you through the major expenses that come up in life. When buying a home, you could work with a real estate lawyer to make sure you get the best deal and won't get taken advantage of by tricky mortgage agreements or unfair landlords. An estate attorney can help you plan for the worst by creating a will and preparing your finances for after your death.
A bankruptcy lawyer is essential to help you resolve your financial difficulties when they start to spin out of control. Certain attorneys help create strategies to bring you out of debt and speak to your creditors. A lawyer can advise you on which type of bankruptcy you should file for.
If you are suing someone or being sued, you need a civil lawyer. Civil attorneys - and criminal lawyers - are the legal representatives who argue on your behalf in a courtroom setting. Civil lawyers may represent you on matters of business, finance or a wide variety of other specialized needs.
One of the most common types of civil attorneys is a personal injury lawyer. When you're hurt by an outside party and you would like to hold them legally responsible, a personal injury attorney conducts litigation and negotiates settlements to compensate for your pain and suffering. Sometimes many wronged people will join together with a single civil lawyer or law office to form a class action lawsuit.
Most people will turn to a lawyer during a divorce to navigate the emotionally charged legal proceedings. A divorce attorney can assist in determining grounds for separation, division of property and custody of children.
Family attorneys deal with much more personal matters. If you're getting married, a family lawyer can help you prepare a prenuptial agreement or other family planning paperwork such as adoption or inheritance documents.
To ensure you find a competent attorney who won't abuse your trust or drain your finances, you have to make the proper inquiries. There are several questions you should ask, but the majority will fall under three general topics:
Training and Experience Questions
One of the best ways to determine quality is to examine an attorney's history. When you first step into a lawyer's office, you should check for the appropriate certifications and diplomas. You have to ask how long he or she has practiced law and request information that demonstrates the practice's success. Look for precise details such as percentage of cases settled out of court.
Once you inquire about the broad details of their legal career, you should ask questions about their experience that pertains to your specific issue. You should ask how many similar cases they have handled and if they have special skills or training that applies specifically to your needs. Lawyers can't mention clients by name, but you should ask for basic details about identical past cases.
You need to ask about every possible fee that will come up when working with an attorney. You should request a list of all costs in advance so you won't be surprised by additional expenses like overhead. Also determine exactly when you will start being billed. You want to inspect paperwork carefully. If the attorney charges you for his or her experience, you need to make sure he or she will perform tasks personally and not hand it off to an assistant.
Find out if the attorney has a flat fee or charges by the hour. Many civil lawyers work on contingency. Whatever the payment plan, make inquiries about how the lawyer plans to provide service for your money and what you can do if you start to feel unsatisfied with his or her performance.
Lawyer/Client Relationship Questions
When you hire a lawyer, you're agreeing to work with someone over a certain period of time. You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship. The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Great questions to start off with are ones that will make your life easier, such as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle. The more forthcoming the lawyer appears to be with individual needs, the better.
You may keep a lawyer on retainer or you could turn to an attorney during specific situations. Here are some common reasons people begin seeking legal representation or advice:
You Know Your Limitations
If you sign documents and you come across a word you don't recognize, you need assistance. You may need a third party to help you navigate important employment or real estate paperwork. It's essential you fully understand the terms of any legally binding documentation or activity you become a part of. If you are not an expert in a given field, you'll want to hire an attorney who is.
A lawyer may find legal implications or opportunities you might miss. If you find yourself in a civil or criminal matter, a proper attorney ensures you don't receive a harsh punishment for a small mistake.
You're Facing an Important Event/Decision
When making decisions critical to your financial stability or personal life, you may want a lawyer with expertise in your situation to make sure you do everything you can to arrive at the proper resolution. This is especially true when you become involved in a criminal case and your freedom is on the line.
It's not just a matter of legal knowledge; lawyer's have access to numerous resources you do not. They have staff ready to work around the clock and experts in a variety of fields to give your important issues the attention they deserve.
You Can't Be Impartial
During times when personal matters intersect with legal proceedings, you may need to have an advocate to prevent your emotions from getting in the way of level-headed thinking. For example, divorce lawyers can mediate a heated argument and help both partners get on with their lives.
Emotional investment could be subtle. You may want to have a lawyer look over an investment opportunity that looks too good to be true or investigate the merits of a possible civil suit when you feel wronged.
You're Out of Options
Many people turn to lawyers when they are in trouble. If you've been accused of a crime or are in a terrible financial situation, you can find an attorney who will work with what you have available to assist you as you deal with your problems.
Personal injury lawyers find solutions for people who can no longer work under their own power and bankruptcy attorneys prevent people from giving in to debt. If you find yourself in a situation where you can't find a solution, a lawyer may be able to offer the counsel you need.
When it comes time to choose a lawyer, you should start by searching close to home. While you probably don't want the conflict of interest that comes from being represented by a family member, friends and loved ones can recommend lawyers who served them well in the past. If you do have attorneys you are familiar with, ask who they believe would be best for you.
After going through personal references - especially from individuals who had similar needs - you should broaden your search through public information resources. You can call your area's attorney referral service or check legal organizations like Martindale-Hubbell. There are other resources available online. You should check websites for client reviews and other third-party forms of approval.
When you build a list of possible candidates, perform a background check on each one. See if you can find information on their history and success record. Once you find a possible lawyer, you should call to arrange a consultation so you can ask your important questions in person.
By performing the necessary research and taking every available precaution, you can narrow your search to the attorney most suited to your needs.
