The lack of compassion that we received from Dr. Herbert while putting our beloved best friend down was absolutely heart breaking. I cannot say that all of their Doctors are the same but I would avoid this Doctor if at all possible. Dr. Herbert took an already painful experience and somehow made it wore.

I would not recommend this vet if your pet is very ill. I had a recent experience that made me leave this vet after over 15 years. The vet was not knowledgeable and after visiting another vet, I realized the vet was not as good as other vets.

We have been taking our Basset Hound to Anne Arundel Veterinary Hospital for the past four years – he receives expert care there and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, we actually moved out of the area a few years back, but continued to make the trip to Anne Arundel Veterinary Hospital because we were not able to find another vet that came anywhere close to what they offer. We are now in the process of moving internationally and very sadly have to say goodbye to the staff there – Dr. Shrank and the staff have done a great job preparing our dog for the journey, helping us navigate the USDA and international regulations for import/export, and completing all the paperwork required. The idea of having to find a new vet near our new home is daunting because I fear no one will be able to compare to the service they provided us and the care and comfort they provided our dog.

We highly recommend the Anne Arundel Vetinarian Hospital. Dr. Greg Herbert and his staff are fantastic. Out toy poodle underwent major surgery. Dr. Herbert showed compassion for our pet, thoroughly explained evertything to us and treated our pet as though she belonged to him. We are very grateful to Dr. Herbert and his staff.

I have used AAVH for over 18 years for all of my cats. Their care and attention is top rated. But recently, I made the difficult decision to have my 18 yr. old cat "put to sleep". Was told by friends and family that it would be peaceful for my cat. But I experienced quite the opposite at AAVH. The experience left me traumatized and the memory of my cats last moments forever etched in my mind. Would not recommend your beloved pet's last few moments being handled by AAVH.

Dr. Herbert gets an A+ and then some, he has treated many of my pets and taken well care of them. I have been totally satisfied with his expertise.



3 of my cats were attacked at different times by a neighbors dog, and were all three treated professionally without any stress to the kitties.

My animals (3 dogs and 4 cats) have been patients of Dr. Herbert for many years. My dog Buffy needed knee surgery and my previous vet referred me to Dr. Herbert because of his skill as an orthopedic surgeon. He fixed a very challenging knee problem. I am an OR nurse and was very impressed by what he was able to do. Dr. Herbert even sent a sympathy card with a hand written note when my old animals finally died.



Everyone at the clinic is very friendly. They treat the animals like old friends. There rarely is more than a 10 minute wait even though they allow walk-ins if you have an urgent problem. Their fees are quite reasonable also. You couldn't get a better group of professionals to treat your animal family.

OK, docs are good enough but there are better vets out there
