I am a coffee snob. That being said, I give Kool Beanz the thumbs up on their house brew. It is more robust than others in the area but not so much as to curl your toes. No funny chemical flavors, no burnt taste. I am told there will be featured brews coming for a limited time, think Jamaican Blue Mountain. Bakery is fabulous. Homemade by Amanda there is no need for anything extra. Keep your butter, honey, jams, etc in your pockets. These muffins and munchies stand alone. I sampled something this morning that seemed a bit like pound cake with chocolate chips. It was rather buttery and the chips were more than brown dots. The chocolate was in your face good. On top of that it was not sickeningly sweet even with the caramel drizzle on top. I have yet to have lunch there but plan on it soon.
I had my son's wedding at Cafe Sausalito and it is one of the great memories of our family's special occasions. Every detail from the parking to the decorating for the wedding theme to the food was exceptional and handled so well. We even had sushi brought in by another restaurant, and the Cafe served it on one of the six food stations. The staff is so very accommodating and gracious. We are thinking of having an anniversary party there in the near future.
My husband and I stopped in at the Flat Iron not entirely sure what to expect given it’s location in the flats and neighboring business establishments, but it was well worth discovering. The environment is what you expect of a pub, the service was very good and the food was delicious and overly abundant for the price. If you like pub grub you will like the Flat Iron.
