Not to mince words, Hudson' s ""Restaurant"" is a local dump. It's where you want to go for affordable drinks, the major sports games on the 2 screens, or your choice of music on the juke (though it seems 'Classic Rock' of the most neanderthal variety is the norm).
Primarily it's an old-guy bar, but a crop of baby boomers and local over-21 college people are starting to show up. Women aren't frowned upon at Hudson's, I guess they just prefer to go elsewhere. So don't bother with the rehearsed pick-up lines and the copious cheap cologne before swaggering in at midnight on a Monday.
The highlight of Hudson's is Wednesday nights, when the resident Brit bartender comes in with excellent home-cooked fare (amongst the recent offerings are: shepherd's pie, clam chowder, meatballs, spiced wings and the like).
For a taste of true local Riverdale flavor, drop by Hudson's.
