Rude Staff and the Host for the Birthday Party was a NO SHOW
I had a party scheduled today from 1230-3p. I was to have a host,2 pizza pies, drinks, the game and shoes for ten kids.\r
\r
I arrived five minutes early and the gentlemen behind the counter said the host is not in. My group waited by the bowling lane and we were told to move because they were giving the lanes to customers just walking in. It is now 40 minutes later and my party is getting restless and still no host and the employees have not a clue as to what can be done for us. The kids are waiting to bowl and are super unhappy. When we inquired to speak with the manager an older man whom did not want to say his name said he was the manager and he did not know who this host was? That is just Ridiculous!!!!! Gun Post Lanes in the Bronx does not deserve anyone's hard earned money..I re-routed my whole party to another location and we had a blast.\r
\r
Don't spend your money here, it's not worth it!!!!! The owner should definately consider hiring people who care about their business and customer service.
The worst employees in the world. The worst games in the world.
On my way to Gun Post Lanes today, I thought wow a pool place and a bowling place. ""How Awsome is today is going to be?"" Be as I reached the entrance, I kindly waited for service as the manager rudely talked on his cell phone. As I observed the kids having fun, I went over a set of pool tables which were oddly place close to each other. The pool sticks had large amounts of wood chipped from it which is a safety hazard to children. Also, it requires two dollars of quarters to release the ba11s and play. The machines for quarters didn't work. ""Great!"" I thought. Strangely, there were two striped 10 ba11s which wasn't part of a perfect set of ba11s. Haha. ba11s. I forgot to mention the pool tables were dusty. Other than that, it was overpriced, employees including the manager were kindly rude to their customers, the pool sticks have the potiental of stabbing someone and the food is awful.\r
Save your money people, you'll be having a much more fun time riding the MTA then going to Gun Pst Lanes. \r
I wasted 30 important minutes of the 16 years that I have been on this Earth because I decided to check out Gun Post Lanes\r
I created this account just to complain about Gun Post Lanes. If this doesn't prove how much of a bad time I had, then you should go check it out for yourself. I be glad to show you the pool stick.
I tried to call for pricing packages for a Birthday party for my daughter. I spoke w/ Joanne (manager) whom refused to give me her last name. She was very nasty to me. I told her I was online reading up on some of the review and she says to me ""then why are you calling for a birthday party."" I couldn't believe this manager would say that. I told her I was calling for pricing not confirming a party. I asked for her last name, she says she does not have one. The prices for the Birthday parties are ridiculous!! I have never heard of an establishment which has birthday parties, but provides no cake with any package. I told her being that you are so nasty I wouldn't dare bring my child and her friends there. I then hung up on her. For her to be a manager she is very unprofessional. Then again no wonder she works in a Bowling Alley. This will be one bowling alley that will not ever see $1 of my money.
I go to Gun Post with a group of 20 people every Sunday, ranging from 7 to 70 years old and we have a wonderful time. The Pro shop is always open, equipment prices are VERY reasonable, and the pizza is outstanding.
This place sucks!!! Five dollars a game per person, it is definitely not worth the aggravation. Some friends and I went to this alley and encountered the following problems: (1) wrong scores, ie: giving us 3 points for a gutter ball and (2) ball getting stuck with the pins. The manager admitted that the machines had not been fixed nor ungraded until 1993 and we just have to press reset button to work. Why should we have to do that ? When we complained, we were accused of trying to ""milk the system"". Furthemore, we attempted to get a refund and was told we would get a credit when they get new machines which he admitted that he is not getting new machines to ""better the community"". DON'T GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE A BAD TIME.
