I hired TLC movers to move from one apartment to another in NYC. They arrived early and when they arrived my MacBook computer was turned on and open on a small couch in my bedroom. There were two movers in my room at the time, one was taking apart my bed, and another was assembling a wardrobe box for me. I shut down my computer, zipped it into its padded case and put it on my dresser. Unfortunately that was the last I saw of it. As I was busy in other rooms, I assumed they had put it into a box with other items. At the end of the day, it was not in any of the boxes. I even went back to my old apartment to be sure it had not accidentally been left behind. I reported it to the company within an hour of the movers leaving, once I had opened the last box. They have been giving me the run around and are stating I might have to take a lie detector test! The movers are claiming they never saw my computer! I hired them because they were licensed, Bonded and insured...but apparently that does me no good. I have reported this to the police as well. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere....other places charged the same amount. I went with this company because they seemed nice and I usually go by my gut feelings , but this was a big mistake. They have turned out to be very rude and unprofessional .
