recently had to have one of my cats put to sleep on the advice of my vet. second cat is showing the signs of being alone and was advised by vet to seek out a new companion for him. my two boys were together for 9 years. my wife and i went to jersey shore as it is close to home and i saw 2-3 young cats as a potential fit for our home. i got all excited and went back to adopt. i was basicly told they would never let me adopt from them as i didn't take good enough care of my boys for the last 9 years. the reason was i didn't take my surviving cat to the vet often enough. mind you he is and has always been healthy so i didn't realize it would be an issue. they were very rude and condemed me on the spot loudly and in front of other people. my wife and i were devistated as we provided both of our boys with an extremely loving and caring environment while in our care. had our vet up north ( we moved here 3 years ago) asked to see our older boy we would have taken him gladly

Got a cat here to find out it was sick and had a upper respiratory infection that ended up costing me $250. How do you not notice a cat is sick when its sneezing all the time and has eye discharge, they must not be spending enough time with the cats. I bet if I tried giving them the vet bill they would of had an attitude towards me after reading these reviews, and I doubt they would pay for it.

Almost every time I've had to deal with this group it hasnt been pleasant. when I was a kid we got a cat from there who was a nightmare, he was basically feral (they were jerks about giving him to us in the first place because of an oversight on the adoption papers, which, yes was our fault) I was 11 and I still remember how RUDE they were, and they probably knew this cat was bad news. He ate out of the garbage every day despite having a covered garbage, he always managed to knock it over. he was a long hair cat who enver cleaned himself (poop on his tail) We had to surrender him at one point because he was pooping all over the house for no good reason. They were nasty when we brought him back too (although I can understand that, its misleading to portraying him as a good cat) a few times I had gone in to look at kittens and in general the people there were snobby and downright rude. there are a few nice ones but I would never adopt an animal from a kill shelter anyways.

Don't go here. The woman overs...

Don't go here. The woman overseeing everything told me I shouldn't have a dog and as a single mother I had enough on my plate. A year later my shih tzu who keeps getting out got out again( I have put chicken wire under the ground at the fence line, tried putting him on a run and putting rock against the fence) I had to pay to get him back which is fine but they said if he wasn't licensed I would receive a ticket which I said no problem he's licensed so since they couldn't get me for that they sent me a ticket for dog running at large so not only $40 to get him back 15 minutes after he got out but another $100 because he got out in the first place. This was after she told me not to let him out at all and give him puppy pads ( so they recommend the dog never be outside at all, healthy right) They deserve 0 stars. Nasty judgemental people who think nobody should have a dog. My neighbor's dog died of old age and since they had a pet that died they are not eligible to adopt,

Let me tell you what I am looking for.....

I walked up to the women at the counter and I said, "I am not just looking for a dog. I am looking for a new best friend". A family member, a type of dog that will follow me around keep me company and love me like no other.

A few minutes later she came out with this black shepherd male mix, my reply was I don't like black dogs and I don't want a male dog. Her reply was give him a chance. I turned around and looked at him. They called him Razz. I said, "Razz, sit, he sat, I said, down, he listened to about 10 commands I had for him. Hummm, I thought. It was the 23rd of December. I said, he will never get along with my other two dogs. I he passed that test also.

To make a long story short. I had Razz for almost 9 years. He was the best dog I ever had. I got him when

he was 2 years old. He died of cancer at age 11. I also have another dog Buca, who is going to be 14 she also

came fro JSAC and she was exactly like they said she was going to be. Sweet but demanding.

Jersey Shore knows their dogs, you can't just walk up and down the runs and look at the dogs for their looks. You have to find the dog that fits your personality.

and your family. And remember it is a lifetime committment.

I highly reccomend them.
