I have been doing business with the Jersey Paddler for about 13 years. Every time I have some sort of contact with them, I am more & more impressed with their honesty, integrity, and willingness to work with the customer.
I just recently bought a Hobie Outback at the Paddle Sport show. When I got it home I noticed that it seemed to be dented in . I attributed it to improperly tying it down onto the car top. I assumed that the first warm day the plastic would warm up, and the side would pop back into shape. I called the store to confirm this, and was told that if this did not happen, bring the kayak back to the store, and they would heat it, and return it to shape.
I did return to the store because the boat would not return to shape on a very warm day. John said" it was a cool day, so it might not work today, but if they were unable to do this, here is my cell # and give me a call and I will stop by your house the next time I am in Staten Island and make the repair ". I was amazed that the owner of the store would make such a generous offer. They worked on the boat, and discovered that it would be too great of a job to reshape it, and that the damage was done by shipping improperly. They immediately gave me a brand new boat on THEiR SUGGESTION, NOT MINE.
John was also kind enough to extend to me the discount offered at the Paddle Sport show towards the purchase of a set of Thule Hullavator roof racks, even though it was 2 weeks later.
These people are the most cooperative, wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. John is the type of guy who always has a smile on his face, a firm handshake, wonderful disposition, and always has the time to chat with a customer.
I have also found the entire staff to be a wonderful group of people. They are informative, and nice folks.
As far as I am concerned, this is the only paddling shop for me.
