X-rays
There are few risks with dental x-rays. We take x-rays in accordance with our academyâ€™s recommendation and are careful to limit the amount of radiation to which children are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation.

Teeth Cleaning
Our main goal is to help you keep your teeth healthy and beautiful as long as possible. Brushing and flossing are key, and regular exams and cleanings are important, too. Adding dental sealants to your cavity fighting tool belt is the next best step to keeping your kids’ smiles cavity free!

A prevention plan is established with each patient and adjusted at every checkup visit. For a younger patient brushing recommendations, fluoride application and a discussion on dietary habits are bases that are covered with caregivers. Older patients may need sealants, over the counter mouth rinses and flossing tips. We monitor patientâ€™s wisdom teeth and can recommend an orthodontist to help correct any bite issues that come up. Prevention to us encompasses the entire spectrum of oral health, not just the teeth themselves.
Space Maintainers
Your childâ€™s teeth will be examined to determine the extent of any tooth decay prior to recommending any treatment. We will always discuss your childâ€™s treatment options with you beforehand in full detail. Depending on the extent of decay, treatment may include tooth colored composite fillings for small cavities or full coverage restorations for more advanced decay. Sometimes extraction is necessary and a space maintainer may be needed to preserve room for permanent teeth.

First, try to find the tooth. Time is important. Hold it by the crown, not the root. If possible, place it back in the socket. You may wash it off with milk or saline. If you cannot replace it yourself, place it in a container of milk and get to the office as soon as possible. Getting it back in place in the first 30 minutes will make a difference.
