Nurse Practitioner will see you instead of a Doctor, without your consent or knowledge.



I brought my daughter to see a doctor at Boynton Beach clinic. When we came in I asked the receptionist "What Doctor are we going to see?" She replied "One of these" and showed me two names. When my daughter was called inside nobody asked her whether she is OK to be seen by Nurse instead of the doctor. When the "doctor" showed up he just said his name but didn't say whether he was a doctor or nurse so we assumed he is one of those two doctors the receptionist was referring to. After we left, on the discharge papers we noticed the abbreviation for nurse practitioner next to his name; there was no MD. So I called back to the clinic and asked them why on my question what DOCTOR will see us she said "one of these" knowing that "one of these" was not a doctor - I was told that if we wanted to be seen by doctor we should have asked the triage nurse about that. Well - I did ask what doctor will see us meaning what DOCTOR not NURSE. Second, when the "doctor" came in he did not say whether his was a nurse practitioner or a MD.

Nice place, lots of marble. Bad service and watch out with the pushing of services.
