Target Doesn't Deserve Your Business. There have been several occasions that I have witnessed deplorable customer service, even by the management; i.e. management telling customers, "If I believed every sob story from every customer that came in here..." and the same manager was on duty when a cart "retriever" had an altercation with a customer out in the parking lot -- the customer claimed that the Target employee called her a "f----n b---h," and then I personally witnessed this employee say it to her again under his breath in front of everyone in the store, including the manager, and I was surprised to find that employee still working there months later. Ask the Manager for a District Manager when you have a problem with the Manager him/herself, you will only be referred to call Target's guest Service 1-800 number -- this company has NO ACCOUNTABILITY for it's unprofessional behavior and inappropriate comments, it is the most disrespectful store chain that I have ever encountered (Wal-Mart and Giant have always had great customer service when you have a problem, they call you back within 1 day, and Wal-mart will call you back within 1 hour, usually). I don't think that this Target has the same Manager from those incidents (I hope not). A friend of mine worked at Target and when I told her that I was thinking about applying for a job there too, she warned me about how disrespectful management is toward the employees and that working there would make me miserable because they treat the employees so terrible, so I heeded her advice and skipped applying at Target. The Target product ingredients change without notice on the label (ie Up & Up Aloe Gel changed from having Aloe as the 2nd ingredient listed, to another formulation without stating it on the label, to a formulation in which Aloe was listed as the 8th ingredient, right before "fragrance," and that is a HUGE difference -- it had the same exact label, it even had the same UPC code) so be very wary when purchasing Target Brand Products, because they will change ingredients without warning -- and Target Brand zip bags are the worst ever, the price of Target Brand paper towels isn't even competitive. Last summer I was standing in a line at a register, and the light at the register was on, when a supervisor for the cashiers turned the light off at the register when I was about to place my items on the conveyor belt, and then the supervisor told me to go to another register because she was going to send that cashier on break after the cashier was done with the person in front of me -- I just left my cart right there with everything in it, left the store, and shopped at Wal-Mart. and Giant. If you call Target guest services, you are lucky if the person doesn't act smarmy and antagonizing and then hang-up on you. Besides, Target's prices are not as good as they used to be, they are more expensive than Giant Food Store on some items now, and Giant doubles coupons that are up to 99 cents, so if you use a coupon for 75 cents, Giant will take off $1.50, so Giant is more competitive with their prices if you use coupons regularly. I stopped shopping at Target in Bowie years ago because of their general disrespect toward customers, I just started shopping there again about 18 months ago, I think that I will try to phase them out permanently, because they are a disappointment, a waste of my time, I just want to shop, WITHOUT the Target drama.
