Avoid at all costs

For starters, the Roadway Inn boasts that it has the Bolder Broker Restaurant
-The restaurant closed over a year and a half ago

During a snow storm they do a horrible job at removing the snow and ice

There “Continental Breakfast” consists of cold cereal or dry oatmeal packets

The carpets and beds seem original to the hotel and appear that they have never been cleaned

The hallways always smelled like marijuana smoke.

This hotel is not quaint or historic…it is simply old. My stay was a complete disappointment.

Overall
Complete waist of money

For starters, the Roadway Inn boasts that it has the Bolder Broker Restaurant
-LIE, the restaurant closed over a year and a half ago

During a snow storm they do not remove, shovel or plow any snow
-Upon our arrival, one week after a storm, we had to park a block away because cars could not get into the parking lot due to a 9’ layer of ice on the entire parking lot and 16” deep pot-holes in the ice at the driveways
-After a second storm the snow was not removed again, leaving the parking lot looking like the face of a glacier.

There is no “Continental Breakfast”
-At the first of the year they removed the eggs and hashbrowns; because, as the staff put it, they were trying to save money….on eggs and hashbrowns??? I can see the over-whelming expense in that!
-At the end of January they removed the oatmeal swimming in sink water contained in a 23 year old crock pot.
-Now, your choices are cold cereal or dry oatmeal packets…not a continental breakfast!
-On a few occasions the breakfast area wasn’t even open; I guess it took a special member of the staff to turn the lights on. The staff at the front desk commented “They are not here yet”. Obviously I get that, but how hard can it be to set out cereal?

The carpets and beds seem original to the hotel and appear that they have never been cleaned

The hot-tub and pool were closed for over a month for renovations, although it was more of a disaster area roped off by yellow tape.
-In that month there were no renovations or any work being done.
-Not sure I would have used them any way, who knows what you might catch; they appeared to be a petri dish of possible infections

The management could care less about any complaint you voice, the staff freely admits that the management plans on doing nothing to fix anything.

As far as Choice Hotels go, I confirmed my point eligibility before I made the reservation. I confirmed my points at check-in, half-way thru my stay (30+ days) and at check-out. Now, Choice says they show no record of my stay and is making me jump thru hoops in the hopes they may honor my points for the stay.

According to more than a half dozen people we spoke to in the surrounding businesses, the rumor is that the staff sells marijuana and cocaine out of the hotel.
-That would explain why the hallways always smelled like marijuana smoke.

This hotel is not quaint or historic…it is simply old. The owner is obviously milking it for every last penny. My stay was a complete disappointment!! As well as a waist of time, frustration and money. This place needs to be torn down and re-built with new staff, management and ownership.

Absolutely one of the worst stays I have ever had at any hotel/motel.
