The Paradise Lounge is a restaurant, music venue and art gallery. The restaurant offers a variety of appetizers, including spinach and artichoke dip, potato skins, nachos, Thai chicken sticks, chili and quesadillas. It also offers a selection of salads and pizzas, as well as such sandwiches as veggie burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches and pulled pork. The club offers music from disc jockeys, local musicians and traveling acts. The Paradise Lounge collaborates with local radio stations to provide listening parties. The Paradise is no fun.
Obviously many reviews for the Paradise Rock Club. I was here with a friend. It was not for a rock concert but a reggae concert. It really sucked.They have a bar. The crowd was mixed. My friend is not a dancer so we did not spend too much time here. It was not that packed and we did not had fun so we left. Truereview here to tell you the truth.

The Paradise had me at Glasvegas

I went to the Paradise to see the Scottish band Glasvegas. None of my friends were interested in going with me so I went alone. LOVED the fact that I could easily slip through the crowd and I managed to weasel my way into the second row from the stage. Great venue to see your favorite band up-close and live before they start playing arenas.

O.k. small size venue

The sound is o.k. compared to other small sized venues in town, and the small size is a good way to get intimate with the bands. There are two down sides to the venue. First, the security and staff at the venue are complete jerks. I have never been to a show there where I wasn't pushed, shoved, or yelled at by someone working there. And I'm a fairly harmless person. The security are gestapo style who get in the face of anyone who starts dancing or moving around, and the staff are never helpful and all have attitude. The second problem is the lack of a reliable box office. They occasionally are available at the Orpheum, but I don't think they even sell them anymore. That means we have to pay the $10-15 service fees from ticketbastard to go to shows at the Paradise. Totally not worth it. Their web site is awful, and they don't post box office hours there. I have dropped by many times to find the box office closed, and unable to buy tickets. If they were smart, they'd supply the bartenders next door with some tix, like most other small clubs.

I would like to start off by saying that the paradise is a great place to see a show and cool out.\r \r Normally, this would be deserving of 4 stars.\r But because reachability is practically non-exsistent, I'm forced to bring them down to 3.\r \r I just spent very close to a half hour trying to reach them about Reggae(dj) night, which recently has seemed to dissapear...being replaced with shows. I really enjoyed dancing to reggae there on Thursdays, but with little updated information on the internet, and absolutely no one to pick up the phone, how the hell should I know what their deal is? \r The most frustrating part is, no matter what avenue you choose (being transferred to the box office, the receptionist, or calling the actual Lounge) all of the voicemail boxes are completely full...so you can't even leave a message to have someone contact you back. And in at least two of the voicemail messages it states that a show scheduled for June 7th has been cancelled. Considering it is now August 30th, I'm left to believe that the umbrella virus infected the daytime employees some 84 days ago and they now reside in the basement, living off the remains of a few unassuming patrons who--like myself--showed up to get answers.\r \r This last call I made minutes ago (at 11:16am--what I thought was a normal business hour) was my last attempt over the period of a week to just get SOMEone on the phone. (I have called at various times ranging between 4pm and 10pm.) All this to ask one simple question. I give up on these people.

Avoid until they fix the Air Conditioner

We recently attended a live musical performance starring the actress from the movie Good Will Hunting - her name is Minnie Driver. We complain about the Paradise Lounge because it is lacking sufficient ventilation and did not have any air conditioning, and there were no windows that could be opened during the performance. The end result was that the entire audience suffered under terrible humidity and sweat through their clothing - not to mention the performer who cut their session early and left the stage due to the humidity. What a shame, and scandal. The Paradise was as hot as a brick oven on a summer day. The end result was it RUINED the show, the performer was frustrated, and the audience, and performer quit early. This is pretty sad for a scheduled entertainer whose face has been all of the big screen. I hope they never come back to the Paradise Loung, I know I won't.

In a larger venue the crowd starts to bunch up near the stage to get a quality look at the act on stage. At the 'Dise, you can be in the bathroom and still have a great sight line to the stage. An exageration, only slightly. You are right up on the stage with the band. There isn't a bad spot in the room. the sound is always a tossup as some majors bring in their own super-genius soundtechs but, any night you are likely to hear an excellent mix of presence and clarity. It gets crowded for sure, but you can always find a spot or two to hang out in. this is most certainly a rare scene. You are within reaching distance from the stage and they don't usually oversell the house. Never a bad show at this place.

I've been going to live music venues all over the country, and never been to a place like this!! It's one of few places in the country, and the only place in Boston to see a great show and then go lounge, with great drinks and even better food! Thank god M-80 is DEAD. The staff is great with awesome knowledge of music and the local Boston scene. Who would of thought you could eat great food at the Paradise Rock Club and Lounge. They serve food until 1am!! The only place in the area that has food that late. Thanks for finally making a great Rock Bar to hang out at!!!!

I simply love the Paradise! I've been going to shows there for the last 5 years and have enjoyed myself everytime (even when the bands have disappointed). For sure the best show I've ever seen there was Our Lady Peace and Everclear. This was the show when Drew Bledsoe and pals did their stage dives. I was really upset when the club had to close down for a while after that. Luckily it's back and the new interior is much better than before!
