The office staff was misleading (nice but misleading), stating that my insurance required me to purchase upgrades (lenses). After my visit I contacted my insurance and they said this was not true. When I went back to the office they clarified that my insurance didn't "pay them much" and the Dr. required me to upgrade to make it worthwhile. When I said I didn't agree they refused to refund me the cost of the ordered glasses. I didn't believe this was correct and told them I would write an on-line review, the Dr became very upset, escorted me (physically uncomfortable even though I was already leaving) to my car and said I was not welcome back even for my records.

Sell, sell, sell

Most expensive visit to the eye doctor ever. I went the end of last year for my yearly eye exam, and all of a sudden I was told to come back several times for check-ups because my eyes looked dry. All I wanted was my contact prescription!!! They ended up billing my insurance company over 600 for a total of 20 minutes of face time with the doctor. He spent half the time trying to sell me stuff. I didn't have vision coverage, but I guess they found a way to bill up my insurance company - I ended up having to pay way more than had I just paid for a full exam out-of-pocket. My uncle is an optometrist in Ketchum and he told me its unfortunate, but this is how some operate. Needless to say, I won't be returning this year...

Hottest Frame Selection in Town

I was shopping around for some hot frames. I ended up chosing Boise Mountain Eyecare because they had so many frames that I just loved. I figure if you have to wear 'em on your face all the time, you better love them. I went in looking for a hot pair and ended up purchasing 2 pair and I got the second for 1/2 OFF!!!! They were fantastic! The doctor and the staff did a great job at explaining everything including what my insurance covered, and believe me, insurance is not the easiest to understand! For the best in Service and Frame Selection..go to Boise Mountain Eyecare!
