Today is my son's 10th birthday, and for his gift I bought him a scooter that I knew he'd love. However, 3 hours before my son got home from school I realized the scooter had a flat. I went everywhere from tire shops, to auto part stores, to hardware stores looking for a way to replace the scooter's stem and tube. Nowhere had the parts I needed, and no one at any of these places was helpful. I was running out of time. My son would be home from school soon and I still didn't have his gift ready. As I was driving around thinking of anywhere else that could possibly help, I passed George's Cycles. I knew it was a long shot, but decided to stop in and try. Well, they didn't have the tube I needed. However, John - who was the man working at the shop - got on the phone and started calling around. After about 20 minutes (and numerous phone calls) he found a small business across town that had the parts to fix my scooter! John then proceeded to get me directions, and the contact name and number of the person he had reached. John demonstrated the best customer service I've ever seen - and I wasn't even his customer. Thanks to this man at Georges Cycles, I was able to give my son a functional birthday gift that he loved. George's Cycles has set the bar for customer service, and I am so happy I decided to stop there, as I probably wouldn't have been able to fix the scooter in time without the help. So THANK YOU John and George's Cycles, you are the standard other places should aspire to reach.
Though not a local bike shop per se, Performance has been exceptional to me. They've always stood by their products without hassle or question, and the mechanics have always been fantastic. I've bought three bikes there (a 29er, a sportive, and a carbon race bike), and they've all been great. I also ride 10,000 miles + per year, and they've kept the bikes going with the free maintenance. I have absolutely no complaints with them and would easily recommend them to anyone.
It's not the prettiest place but they are Excellent, Honest and know the ins and outs of Harleys. American V-Twin has been working on my Motorcycles since 2003 when I moved to Boise. I have been to other shops without satisfaction and his ability to Fabricate and machine parts has kept me on the road. I cant recommend them highly enough.
