Since joining the Delray Center in 2016, Maykelyn Felipe, APRN has become an invaluable asset to the center and its client. Maykelyn is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, as well as a Masters degree in Family Practice Nursing. Prior to joining the Delray Center, Maykelyn worked for seven years in an inpatient mental health facility, helping individuals with high-acuity mental health disorders.

In addition to her experience in Psychiatry, Melissa has also worked in Women’s Health for over 6 years. She has worked in the hospital setting in Gynecology, Gynecology Oncology, and Obstetrics. She completed her capstone project for her doctorate in December 2020 by implementing an Outpatient Iron Infusion Clinic for women with Iron Deficiency Anemia of Pregnancy.

Nate Shanok, PhD is the supervisor for the Delray Center for Brain Science & TMS Therapy, overseeing the Delray Center’s Neurofeedback, TMS, and Cognitive Training programs. Dr. Shanok joined the Delray Center in 2020 shortly after earning his PhD in experimental psychology and neuroscience from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to joining the Delray Center, Nate worked as a neurofeedback technician and data analyst with the Center for Brain Training in Jupiter, and as an adjunct professor in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University. Nate has also served as a clinical research coordinator with the Els For Autism Foundation, where he worked on several projects which aimed to identify the genetic, neurophysiological, and cognitive markers of autism spectrum disorder.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
In addition to her role as the Director of Nursing at the Delray Center, Maykelyn also sees clients privately at our campus in Delray Beach, providing initial assessments, follow-up care, and medication management. Maykelyn specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, attention deficit & hyperactivity disorder (ADD / ADHD) and substance abuse. Maykelyn is also a certified TMS provider.

These includes specialized treatment tracks for Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Treatment-Resistant Depression, Dual Diagnosis, Eating Disorders, Trauma Resolution, and intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Each program includes a unique treatment plan, and is customized to address the clinical needs of every client. Psychiatry
It was the first August of the new millennium. Dr. Raul Rodriguez, at the time still the Chief Resident in Psychiatry at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, had just started his private practice in Boca Raton. He quickly noticed an alarming trend. Almost all of the new patients that were coming in had a severe addiction to opioids. Combining a number of the techniques he had learned in Jackson Memorial with advanced practices that were being used in Yale, Dr. Rodriguez developed a new type of treatment that was able to detoxify these patients on an outpatient basis without hardly missing any work. Even though these new detoxification protocols were very effective, it became apparent that more severe underlying clinical conditions were prominent in this population, especially Eating Disorders, PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder and Treatment-Resistant Major Depression.
