Cornerstone Home Health of Northeast Ohio

Don't take this company if you have your own idea of what you want for your loved one. I don't care for company's who are to aggressive in trying to get you to put your loved one in an institution or on hospice as that is a personal decision for a family. Since they didn't agree with the fact that I wanted to care for my mom at home as I have been for 7 years they dropped my mom. Good thing all companies aren't like this, we should have rights to do what our loved one would want and who knows this better than the person who has spent a lifetime with them and loves them. I wouldn't recommend. My mom is well taken care of by her family and that's where she wants to be.

Avoid this one-a lot of lip service & promises but never any follow through or follow up and DO NOT BUY THE ACCREDITATION W/THE MASONIC HOME! If the Masonic Organization of which my father is a 50+ year member, knew how badly their reputation was being damaged on a daily basis by this agency they would have taken a closer look a long time ago. Sadly the majority of the Yo. Ohio area has problems with the Home Health Aides that fall into the unskilled class. Those workers are needed to help your seniors, of which my father is one, that require aide w/their personal needs as well as light cleaning- housekeeping, laundry etc. However these type of unskilled Aides receiving only a bit better than min. wage and generally don't seem to work for these agencies because they want too or respect the seniors of this community-According to several sources I have spoken with in Youngstown, in particular within the offices of Area 11 on Aging, a great many of these unskilled positions are now filled by individuals that are on Ohio state aid. When and if they show up for work its only because the State of Ohio and its Welfare Dept makes working for a specific number of hours a requirement to receiving their welfare benefits/check. Thus you get what you you're apparently paying for? How very sad that this agency taken over a couple of years ago by the Cornerstone Group out of Urbana, Ohio seems to be getting a large percentage of them. My father has been subjected to some of the worst of them. I have spoken to a great many people within the Cornerstone or C I organization on the poor quality of his aides; the poor management team in the Youngstown/Boardman office and the lack of follow-up responsibility by anyone in this group. This includes its recent Past President, Mary.

It's time the Governor and the legislature in the State of Ohio woke up. I agree that Welfare checks shouldn't be FREE, but the burden, lack of care, humiliation and degradation should NOT be forced upon the backs of the elderly citizens of the State of Ohio. I only gave them a one star rating because they do at least answer the telephone.
